Click Clack: Next Era Grant
This funding initiative provides financial support and resources to nonprofit organizations that promote girls' flag football programs, aiming to empower young female athletes from under-resourced communities across the U.S. and Mexico.
The Click Clack: Next Era Grant is a national funding initiative powered by Under Armour and The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation and administered by Beyond Sport. With a collective $1 million commitment over three years, this program is dedicated to expanding opportunities for girls in flag football across the United States and Mexico. More than just a grant, it represents a movement to reshape opportunity for the next generation of athletes by promoting leadership, confidence, and inclusion through sport. The program will support nonprofit organizations that provide out-of-school-time programming focused on safe, structured, and supervised sports opportunities for youth aged 18 or younger. In addition to financial awards, grantees may receive high-quality flag football equipment, branded apparel, and access to Positive Coaching Alliance training for coaches. The broader intent is to build local infrastructure and mentorship systems while supporting efforts to establish girls flag football as a varsity sport in more states and regions. Eligible applicants must be registered nonprofit organizations operating for at least two years. U.S.-based applicants must have active 501(c)(3) public charity status in good standing with the IRS. Mexican applicants must be legally registered nonprofit entities such as Asociación Civil (A.C.) or similar. Organizations must either currently operate girls flag football programming or present a clear and credible plan to do so. Alternatively, they may be working toward state or regional sanctioning of the sport. Applicants must serve participants from under-resourced communities, which may include those facing economic hardship, limited access to sports infrastructure, high poverty rates, food insecurity, underfunded public education, or geographic isolation. Organizations are encouraged to define “under-resourced” within their local context. A safeguarding policy or standard operating procedures must be in place to demonstrate safety practices. Grant requests cannot exceed 50% of the organization's most recently audited annual revenue. While the full application will open on March 9, 2026, organizations are currently invited to submit an Expression of Interest. The EOI phase collects basic information such as contact details, nonprofit documentation, website, and social media links. By registering during this phase, organizations will receive notifications and instructions for completing the full application when it becomes available. Organizations can begin by clicking the “Apply” button to register a profile, verify their contact information via email, upload required documents, and submit the EOI. Questions can be directed to the program team at programs@beyondsport.org. This grant supports a powerful vision: using sport to unlock leadership, confidence, and opportunity for girls, both on and off the field.
