HUD 811 Project-Based Rental Assistance
This funding provides rental assistance to owners of eligible multifamily properties in Massachusetts to support extremely low-income individuals and families with disabilities in accessing safe and affordable housing.
The Section 811 Project Rental Assistance Demonstration supports decent, safe, and sanitary rental housing for extremely low-income persons with disabilities and extremely low-income households that include at least one person with disabilities. The program is intended for developers and owners of eligible rental housing, and excludes development costs and properties or units already receiving certain project-based rental assistance or restricted to elderly-only or disability-only occupancy categories identified in the program materials. Administrative costs are capped at 5 percent of the award unless HUD approves a modification, and program participants must follow HUD cooperative agreement, rental assistance contract, use agreement, housing standards, and fair housing and civil rights requirements.
