Speedway Children’s Charities Grant Program
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in North Texas that serve children facing challenges such as homelessness, foster care, food insecurity, and medical needs.
Speedway Children's Charities is a nonprofit organization affiliated with Speedway Motorsports that focuses on improving the lives of children across communities where it operates. The Texas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities works specifically within North Texas to support nonprofit organizations serving children facing various challenges. The organization raises funds through events and community engagement activities and redistributes those funds through a structured grant program. In recent years, the Texas chapter has demonstrated its impact by distributing over $250,000 annually to local nonprofit organizations, reinforcing its commitment to supporting vulnerable youth populations. The primary purpose of the SCC Texas Grant Program is to provide financial support to nonprofit organizations that directly serve children in need. The program emphasizes equitable access to opportunities for children regardless of their circumstances. Funding is directed toward programs that address critical needs such as homelessness, foster care, food insecurity, and victims of sex trafficking. In addition to these priority areas, the program also supports initiatives related to medical care, including illness, dental needs, disabilities, and therapy, as well as educational programming such as tutoring, literacy, and after-school enrichment. Grant funds are intended strictly for programmatic support and may not be used for capital projects or operational expenses such as salaries. This restriction ensures that awarded funds directly benefit program delivery rather than infrastructure or administrative overhead. Applicants must clearly define how the requested funds will support a specific program and demonstrate measurable impact on children served. The grant amounts available range from $2,500 to $20,000, and requests outside of this range are not considered. Eligibility for the grant is limited to existing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations whose primary mission focuses on serving children within Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties in Texas. Priority consideration is given to organizations addressing critical populations such as homeless youth, foster children, or victims of sex trafficking. All eligible organizations are encouraged to apply, and applications are reviewed based on alignment with SCC priorities, program effectiveness, and demonstrated need. The application process consists of two phases. During the first phase, organizations must complete an online application form that collects organizational details, program descriptions, funding requests, and impact metrics. Selected applicants are then invited to participate in a second round, where they must submit additional documentation including IRS verification, financial statements, board member lists, mission statements, organizational charts, and a budget tracker worksheet provided by SCC. Applicants have a strict one-week deadline to submit these materials once requested. Following the submission of second-round materials, selected organizations undergo a site visit and interview conducted by an SCC Trustee. This step allows for in-depth evaluation of the organization’s operations and program effectiveness. Final decisions are made after these evaluations, and approved organizations are notified by early December. Awardees are required to attend a grant ceremony in December to receive funding, reinforcing the program’s emphasis on community engagement and accountability. The 2026 grant cycle opens on March 11, 2026, and closes on May 29, 2026 at 10:00 PM Central Time. Applications must be submitted within this window to be considered. Organizations are encouraged, though not required, to participate in SCC volunteer events as part of their partnership with the organization. Questions regarding the application process can be directed to Marissa Chaney via email, who serves as the primary contact for the Texas grant program.
