The funding period for this grant is 24 months. For new programs, a maximum of 12 months can be allocated to development, with at least 12 months dedicated to implementation. Expansion of existing programs can use the full 24-month period for implementation, but grantees may also use up to 12 months for additional program development if necessary. The goal is to ensure that institutions have sufficient time and resources to establish or grow high-quality nursing programs.
Eligible applicants include organizations that can develop or expand healthcare training programs, such as institutions of higher education, workforce training providers, and healthcare organizations. The initiative prioritizes projects that directly address workforce shortages and improve access to qualified healthcare professionals within Texas.
Applicants must submit their proposals by the deadline of March 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM CDT. Prior to submission, potential applicants may seek clarifications by submitting questions before January 24, 2025, at 4:00 PM CST. Applications will be evaluated based on the proposed program's feasibility, alignment with workforce needs, and potential impact on increasing the number of LVNs and RNs.
