Fountain Hills - Republic Services Non-Profit Grant Program
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations in Fountain Hills for projects that enhance community well-being, promote environmental stewardship, and offer educational opportunities for local residents.
The Town of Fountain Hills, in partnership with Republic Services, has established a community-focused grant program designed to support nonprofit-led projects and programs that benefit residents within the Town’s geographic boundaries. This initiative reflects a collaborative effort between a municipal government and a private sector partner to invest in local organizations that contribute to the quality of life, environmental stewardship, and social well-being of the community. The program is administered by the Town, which also appoints a Grants Committee responsible for overseeing application review and award decisions. The primary purpose of this grant program is to fund projects that deliver measurable community benefits. Eligible proposals must align with at least one of several priority areas, including environmental stewardship, enhancement of the Town’s natural beauty, promotion of healthy lifestyles, provision of educational opportunities, delivery of human services, or creation of opportunities for public enjoyment such as community events and performances. The program is designed to support both new initiatives and expansions of existing programs, provided they demonstrate clear value to Fountain Hills residents. The total funding available for this grant cycle is 10000 dollars, with the expectation that one or two nonprofit organizations will receive awards based on a competitive scoring process. Funding is provided in advance of project completion, allowing recipients to initiate and implement their programs without delay. However, recipients are required to return any unspent funds within one year of the award or upon project completion, whichever comes first. Additionally, any changes to the approved budget must receive prior written approval from the Town’s Economic Development Department. Eligibility for the program is limited to nonprofit or not-for-profit organizations that possess an active 501(c) designation and are based within Fountain Hills. Furthermore, the proposed project or program must be implemented within the Town’s boundaries and demonstrate a direct benefit to the local community. Organizations may submit only one application per cycle, although participation in this program does not restrict applicants from pursuing other funding opportunities offered by the Town. The application process requires submission through an online form and includes several key components. Applicants must provide an organizational summary detailing leadership, staffing, and operational history, along with evidence of capacity to execute the proposed project. A project narrative must outline the purpose, scope, and anticipated community impact, including alignment with the program’s priority areas. A detailed budget is also required, including justification for requested funds and supporting documentation such as quotes or prior proposals. Applications must be submitted by July 9, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Applications are evaluated by a Grants Committee using a structured scoring methodology totaling 100 points. Criteria include community impact, human and environmental impact, and educational value. The review process culminates in notification of award decisions by August 13, 2026, with funding distributed no later than September 1, 2026. Award recipients are formally recognized at a Town Council meeting. Projects must be completed within one year, and recipients are required to submit a final report documenting expenditures and outcomes within 30 days of completion. For questions or additional information, applicants may contact the Town’s Economic Development Department via email or phone. The Town reserves the right to modify the program, reject applications, or delay funding at its discretion. This grant program is expected to recur annually, continuing its role in supporting impactful nonprofit initiatives within the Fountain Hills community.
