TD Bank Regional Grants

The TD Charitable Foundation Regional Grants program provides charitable funding to eligible organizations serving communities within TD Bank, N.A. metro market areas. Founded in 2002, the TD Charitable Foundation states that its mission is to support, respect and improve the quality of life in the diverse communities it serves. The Foundation has contributed more than $361 million to nonprofit organizations since its founding. Regional grantmaking primarily supports programs aligned with one or more drivers of the TD Ready Commitment, with special consideration for work benefiting historically underserved communities and low-to-moderate income people. Regional Grants support programmatic initiatives that add value to an organization's existing scope of services and have measurable goals and outcomes. Requests may seek full or partial funding for a program. The minimum grant amount the Foundation will approve is $5,000. Applications must be submitted online. Applicants provide general organization and contact information, including the organization's name, address, and mission statement; request information including the requested amount, project title, communities served, outcome measurement, and confirmed partners; financial information including organization and project budgets and explanations of significant changes in revenue or expenses; and acceptance of grant conditions if selected. Required documents in PDF or Word format include a board member list with employer, job title, and board position; the latest available audited financial statement or an acceptable filed tax return when no audit is performed; documentation of 501(c)(3) status or appropriate government or public school tax identification documentation; the organization's current operating budget; and a proposed project budget. A 990EZ is acceptable, but a 990N or Postcard is not accepted. Applications are reviewed locally. Final recommendations are made by the TD Charitable Foundation regional grants committee and approved by the Foundation's Board of Directors. Applicants may apply as many times as desired, but an organization can receive only one grant during a twelve-month period. The Foundation's stated preferences indicate that applicants should clearly demonstrate alignment with the TD Ready Commitment, measurable goals and outcomes, a programmatic focus, added value to existing services, and benefits for low-to-moderate income and diverse or historically underserved communities. Applicants may decline to identify whether their organization is led by one of the demographic groups identified in the application, and selecting the option to prefer not to answer or indicate that the applicant does not know will not count against the organization during review. Regional Grant applications are accepted on a bi-monthly basis.
