This Wyoming Department of Workforce Services program helps businesses create structured internship experiences that give interns hands-on learning, meaningful work under supervision, exposure to different parts of an organization, mentorship, and regular training and feedback for workplace skill development. Up to $18 per hour for intern wages for an internship of up to 960 hours and no more than six months. The $17,280 ceiling is calculated as $18 per hour multiplied by 960 maximum hours. Approved hourly rates are based on supporting wage documentation and are not guaranteed. Grants operate on a cost reimbursement basis.

Wyoming businesses may apply if they are registered and in good standing with Wyoming Unemployment Insurance, Workers’ Compensation, the Wyoming Secretary of State, the Workforce Development Training Fund, and HireWyo. Eligible projects are structured internships that provide supervised hands-on learning, mentorship, department exposure, and training and feedback, and may not substitute for the normal work of regular employees. Eligible work includes providing resources to establish structured, hands-on learning experiences; real-world experience for interns; opportunities to observe and contribute to various areas of the organization; access to mentorship and industry networking; structured or on-the-job training with feedback in WY.
