The Business Promotion Grant Program is administered by the Town of Danville to support local economic development through creative, collaborative, and public-facing events. This program was established to stimulate economic vitality, foster collaboration among local businesses, and encourage meaningful public engagement. For the fiscal year 2025–2026, the Danville Town Council has allocated a total of $25,000 toward this initiative. The program provides funding for eligible events and promotional activities that are open to the public and designed to benefit Danville’s business community.
Eligible events must demonstrate collaboration among multiple Danville-based businesses, provide experiential engagement for consumers, and include a marketing or promotional component. The events must aim to drive direct business traffic to local establishments. Restrictions include prohibitions against private, exclusive, or fundraising-only events unless they offer substantial community and business benefits. Additionally, any events that primarily benefit non-Danville businesses or contradict town policies are ineligible for funding.
The application window for this program spans from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, or until the program funds are exhausted. Applications are reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis, with those submitted for events scheduled between July 1 and December 31, 2026, being processed in June 2026 following the Town’s annual budget cycle. Grant awards are reimbursement-based, requiring applicants to submit proof of eligible expenditures after the event takes place.
The program offers multiple funding tiers based on the number of participating businesses. Events with 2–4 participants may receive up to $1,500, while those involving 11 or more businesses are eligible for as much as $3,500. Additional support is available for co-op shopping center marketing, digital marketing for individual businesses, and supplementary services such as trolley transport, town facility rentals, and event catering. All grant requests are subject to a cap of $5,000 per event.
Applicants must ensure that all participating businesses possess current Danville business licenses and are located within town limits. To verify eligibility, businesses are encouraged to consult the Business Grant Eligibility List. Approved applications will be reimbursed after the event, contingent on submission of appropriate documentation for eligible expenditures.
