Funding is available in amounts ranging from 2000 to 10000 United States dollars per recipient. The grant specifically excludes funding for operational expenses such as salaries, wages, contractor payments, travel, capital campaigns, sponsorships, and prizes. Additionally, projects that exceed the maximum funding threshold where the grant would only represent a small portion of total costs are not eligible. Applicants are required to submit a detailed and itemized budget explaining how funds will be allocated, ensuring transparency and feasibility of the proposed project. Eligibility is open to individual leaders and organizations worldwide, with the exception of applicants located in certain countries restricted due to legal and regulatory sanctions. These restrictions include several regions such as Iran, Russia, Syria, and others identified under United States Office of Foreign Asset Control regulations. Applicants must also demonstrate a legitimate and lawful use of funds, as all submissions are subject to thorough vetting to prevent misuse or association with illegal activities. Only one application per project is permitted, and all materials must be submitted in English. The application process requires completion of a comprehensive submission form that includes narrative responses describing the project, its goals, community impact, implementation plan, and sustainability strategy. Applicants must also provide at least one recent professional reference letter that clearly outlines their relationship and collaboration history, as well as a one minute video submission explaining the project’s vision and anticipated impact. Applications are accepted on a first come basis and limited to the first 200 fully completed submissions or until the deadline of August 10, whichever occurs first. The evaluation process is conducted by a grant selection council that reviews submissions between September and December. Applications are assessed based on alignment with Purpose Earth’s mission, clarity of project design and implementation, sustainability, measurable impact, and the experience of the applicant or team. Successful applicants are notified between January and early February, with funding distributed in installments beginning shortly thereafter. The grant operates on an annual cycle, with applications typically opening in early July and closing in August.
