Youth and Family Affairs Grant
This funding opportunity is designed to support local nonprofit organizations in Lawton, Oklahoma, that provide programs for at-risk youth, focusing on academic and life skills development to improve their future prospects.
The Youth & Family Affairs Committee (YFAC) of the City of Lawton, Oklahoma, offers annual grant funding for local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations committed to serving youth. This funding is part of a broader municipal effort to enhance the well-being and future prospects of Lawton's younger population through community-based programs. YFAC is housed within the city’s civic structure and operates under the governance and administrative framework of the municipal government. The YFAC grant targets organizations seeking to deliver impactful programming during Fiscal Year 2026–2027 (July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027). The intent is to support initiatives that benefit at-risk youth, promote academic and career readiness, enhance developmental outcomes, and reduce juvenile delinquency. The emphasis is on fostering non-athletic enrichment, keeping youth engaged in positive pursuits, and raising school retention rates. Proposals must align with these objectives and clearly articulate measurable community impact. This is a competitive grant. Applications are evaluated based on their alignment with the program’s five central goals: serving at-risk youth, equipping participants with life or career skills, boosting school retention, increasing participation in development-focused programming, and encouraging non-athletic academic or life skill development. Only organizations able to demonstrate strong, evidence-based programming are likely to be selected. A required pre-application training will take place on November 25, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the Banquet Room of Lawton City Hall. This session will cover the grant’s guidelines, including application requirements, financial documentation standards, compliance expectations, and allowable expenditures. Attendance is mandatory to be eligible to apply. This meeting serves as both a compliance checkpoint and a support mechanism for prospective applicants. The application period opens December 1, 2025, and closes January 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. All submissions must be delivered to the City Clerk’s office by the deadline. Late submissions will not be considered. This is the only opportunity to request funding for the upcoming fiscal year, and no other cycles will be offered during this period. For further information, applicants may contact the City Clerk’s office at (580) 581-3305. All awarded programs must operate within the designated fiscal year and be compliant with all stated guidelines and reporting expectations.
