The Grants Committee first reviews all submitted applications and conducts research and, in some cases, site visits during June and July. Based on this review, a shortlist of candidates is developed and presented to the full membership of the Ojai Women’s Fund. Members then vote using a ballot system to determine final grant recipients. Evaluation criteria include organizational leadership, financial sustainability, clarity of mission, program effectiveness, and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The application period for the 2026 grant cycle opened on April 13, 2026, and closes on May 15, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Following submission, selected applicants may be invited for site visits, and nominees for funding will be announced in September 2026. However, organizations may receive funding for no more than two consecutive years and must then wait one full cycle before reapplying.
