NCCF Women Givers Fund
This grant provides funding to charitable organizations in four North Carolina counties that support women, children, and families in need.
The Women Givers of Northeast NC is a regional giving circle operated under the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF). This giving circle empowers women in philanthropy by pooling resources to support nonprofit organizations that benefit women, children, and families in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank, and Perquimans counties. The initiative focuses on strengthening local communities through strategic charitable contributions and enhanced civic engagement among its members. For the upcoming grant cycle, the Women Givers will accept applications from March 6, 2026, until noon Eastern Time on April 7, 2026. Late submissions, including those delayed due to technical issues, will not be accepted. Applications must be submitted via NCCF’s Grant Application Portal. First-time applicants are required to follow the steps in Training Module I to create a user profile, while returning applicants can proceed directly to Training Module II to add a new application. The program funds projects or general operating support for qualified charitable organizations that address community needs related to women, children, and families in the four-county area. In 2025, the Women Givers awarded a total of $14,000 through five grants ranging from $2,500 to $3,500. Eligible projects include crisis intervention services, outdoor youth experiences, child abuse intervention, and regional hunger relief. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or be fiscally sponsored by one. Other eligible entities include local governments, public schools, and faith-based organizations providing secular services. All applicants must operate in the eligible counties and follow NCCF’s nondiscrimination requirements. Restrictions include exclusions for political activities, religious doctrine promotion, capital campaigns, individual benefits, and reimbursement of past costs. Grant decisions are typically announced two months following the application deadline. Selection criteria are informed by an annual Community Needs Assessment and evaluated by a local advisory group. Interested applicants are encouraged to read the guidelines thoroughly and may contact the Donor Engagement Officer for clarification or additional information.
