Autism Community Impact Grant

The Flutie Foundation’s Autism Community Impact Grant supports not-for-profit organizations that demonstrate a commitment to making a meaningful and immediate difference in the lives of individuals with autism and their families. As part of the foundation’s broader mission to help individuals and families affected by autism live life to the fullest, this funding initiative prioritizes innovative, inclusive, and impactful programming within underserved and underrepresented communities. Preference is given to proposals that closely align with the Flutie Foundation’s Seven Key Dimensions framework, which represents holistic approaches to addressing the diverse and evolving needs of the autism community. The grant opportunity is open to qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that are either autism-focused or equipped to directly support individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. Applicants may request up to $15,000 for programs and projects designed to advance community engagement, accessibility, and services for autistic individuals. Additionally, nonprofits may apply for up to $10,000 specifically for direct support activities that address immediate needs such as housing, health care, employment access, or education support. The Autism Community Impact Grant is geographically focused on two primary service areas: New England and Central Florida. However, organizations operating outside of these regions may still be considered for funding through an invitation-only process, contingent on their demonstrated connection to the Flutie Foundation’s mission and ongoing participation in Foundation-led initiatives and events. The Foundation encourages strong collaboration and considers applicants’ engagement with the Foundation’s annual programs as a measure of commitment and partnership. Applications for the current cycle are open now, with an application deadline of October 3, 2025. Letters of Intent (LOIs) are accepted beginning in September, with award notifications scheduled for December 2025. The LOI process serves as a preliminary screening step to assess alignment with funding goals and mission priorities before full applications are invited or evaluated. To be eligible, applicants must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) and must be in good standing with the IRS. While organizations outside the primary geographic areas may apply only by invitation, all applicants must be capable of demonstrating a measurable impact in the autism community. Applications should clearly define the target population, programmatic goals, and anticipated outcomes, as well as the use of funds and how they will directly benefit individuals with autism and their families. Questions about the program or the application process should be directed to the Flutie Foundation. Applications must be submitted through the designated online portal by the stated deadline. The Foundation evaluates submissions based on relevance to mission, clarity of objectives, population served, and potential for community impact. Final funding decisions will be announced in December 2025.
