Future of Work Accelerator Grant Program
This program provides funding, technology, and training to U.S.-based nonprofit and mission-driven for-profit organizations that support vulnerable populations, such as youth and small businesses, in gaining digital skills and access to technology.
The Future of Work Accelerator is a strategic initiative led by HP Inc. and the HP Foundation, designed to promote digital equity by supporting organizations that empower disconnected communities through technology and digital skills. Since its inception in 2022, the Accelerator has served 35 nonprofit organizations across 13 countries, collectively extending digital access and skills to over 11.3 million people. This program is part of HP's broader commitment to social impact, addressing the critical need for equitable access to technological tools and digital literacy in an evolving global economy. In 2026, the Accelerator is entering its fifth year with a renewed focus and expanded eligibility. For the first time, the program is open to both nonprofit and mission-driven for-profit organizations, reflecting a recognition that diverse organizational models can contribute meaningfully to closing the digital divide. The 2026 cycle is based entirely in the United States and specifically targets populations most vulnerable to economic disruption due to digital transformation—youth, on-demand workers, and small businesses. This focus aligns with HP’s broader mission to support communities in adapting to the “future of work,” a concept defined by the company as the shifting landscape of employment shaped by AI and other technological advances. Selected participants will receive a comprehensive support package that includes USD $100,000 in unrestricted grant funding from the HP Foundation, an estimated USD $100,000 worth of HP technology and solutions, and access to a six-month virtual training program. The capacity-building curriculum is developed in collaboration with HP’s social impact partners, MIT Solve and Global Impact Advisors, and is tailored to help participants scale their efforts and increase organizational resilience. Participants also join an alumni network that continues to offer support and engagement beyond the formal program period. The 2026 Accelerator begins in May and runs through October. The application window opens on January 12, 2026, and closes on February 6, 2026. Reporting is required at three intervals following program participation: six months, 18 months, and 2.5 years after program commencement. These reports are expected to include baseline and follow-up metrics related to direct and indirect participant reach, with flexible methodologies for estimating indirect impact based on program design and delivery. To be eligible, applicants must be legally registered in the United States and conduct the majority of their programming domestically. They must serve an average of 25,000 people annually and be beyond the ideation phase, with ongoing programs that can benefit from Accelerator support. The application process does not include pre-application gating mechanisms like a letter of intent or concept note. Organizations interested in applying or seeking more information may contact the Accelerator team directly via email at accelerator@hp.com. This initiative represents a unique opportunity for mission-aligned organizations to receive not only financial and technological resources but also structured mentorship and peer engagement to help drive systemic change in digital access and economic opportunity.
