Statewide Deferred Prosecution Grant Program

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority is soliciting proposals through the Statewide Deferred Prosecution Notice of Funding Opportunity, NOFO #2827-0925. The opportunity uses State Fiscal Year 2026 funds to support the Statewide Deferred Prosecution Funding Program. The Illinois General Assembly created the program in 2021 to provide grants to State's Attorneys to operate deferred prosecution programs. A total of at least $750,000 is identified as available through this solicitation, with funding supporting a five-month performance period from February 1, 2026, through June 30, 2026. Deferred prosecution programs operate during the pre-trial or prosecution phases and involve agreements between the state's attorney and the participant that are approved by the court. The application deadline was December 17, 2025, and the ICJIA Budget Committee review and approval of recommended designations was scheduled for February 2026. The performance period runs from February 1, 2026, through June 30, 2026. Recipients must submit periodic financial reports, periodic performance reports, final financial and performance reports, and a calendar year-end financial report in accordance with CFR Part 200 Uniform Requirements.
