Eligibility for the Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant is focused on adult learners who are seeking to re-enter education or advance their skills. Applicants must be Missouri residents or qualifying individuals such as active duty military members stationed in Missouri and their spouses. Individuals must not have previously earned a bachelor’s degree and must meet additional criteria, including being at least 25 years old or not having been enrolled in school within the past two years. Applicants must also meet income requirements, be enrolled at least half-time in an eligible program, and, where applicable, submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid to determine financial need. The application process is conducted through the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development’s State Financial Aid Portal. Applicants must complete and submit their application electronically by the stated deadline for the academic year. After submission, the department reviews eligibility and updates the system, after which participating institutions certify enrollment and financial information through the FAMOUS system. Once certification is completed, funds are disbursed to institutions and then applied to student accounts. The process requires coordination between the applicant, the state agency, and the educational provider to ensure accurate and timely disbursement. For the 2026 to 2027 academic year, the application opened on July 24, 2026, and must be submitted no later than May 15, 2027. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis within this window, but funding cannot be applied retroactively to prior academic periods. The program operates on an annual cycle, with new application periods opening each academic year. Continued participation requires students to maintain satisfactory academic progress and meet all program requirements.
