H. Hovnanian Family Foundation Environmental Grants

The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation, a private philanthropic organization, focuses on supporting initiatives that promote the advancement of Armenians and the Republic of Armenia. Historically accepting grant applications year-round across various focus areas, the Foundation implemented a more targeted approach starting in the third quarter of 2024. Each quarter is now dedicated to a specific priority area, ensuring a more concentrated and impactful use of resources. For the fourth quarter of 2025, the Foundation has launched the Youth Empowerment Grants, emphasizing projects that serve youth in Armenia's regions. This funding round seeks to address ongoing challenges in Armenia’s human capital development, particularly for youth aged 13 to 35 who lack access to quality non-formal educational opportunities. These gaps hinder their ability to participate fully as active citizens, maintain healthy lifestyles, and engage with science and digital innovation. The Foundation aims to support programs that offer practical, innovative solutions to these challenges and show strong potential for sustainable long-term impact beyond the funding period. Projects may focus on three core areas: civic engagement and active citizenship, healthy lifestyles and well-being, and science and technology education. For civic engagement, initiatives might include youth-led community projects or leadership development efforts that foster a culture of participation and responsibility. Health-focused proposals may include sports, physical activity programs, or wellness awareness campaigns. In the realm of science and technology, proposals may involve hands-on STEM education or digital literacy training to prepare youth for a knowledge-based future. Applicants must demonstrate at least three years of programmatic outcomes. Collaborative efforts involving public and private sectors or international partnerships are encouraged. Both single-year and multi-year projects are eligible. Prior grantees may reapply after a 12-month interval from their last award. U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations working on Armenia-related missions should use the Armenian Grants section of the website for submissions. The application process begins with an online eligibility quiz. If deemed eligible, organizations may submit a concept note at any time, though only 20–25 full applications will be accepted per quarter. Those selected to proceed must submit the full application by December 30, 2025, via email. Concept notes are reviewed on a rolling basis, and early submission increases the chances of consideration. Funding decisions are expected by mid-February 2026. The total funding available for this cycle is $320,000, with individual grant amounts typically ranging between $30,000 and $35,000.
