Bertie-Hertford Women’s Fund

First-time users must follow Training Module I to create a profile, while returning users may log in and proceed directly to submit an application via Training Module II. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, those with a qualified fiscal sponsor, local governments (including public schools), fire and rescue departments, and certain religious entities providing secular services. All organizations must serve Bertie and/or Hertford counties and may not discriminate based on age, race, gender, religion, or other protected statuses. Restrictions include prohibitions against funding for annual appeals, political lobbying, religious doctrine promotion, individual benefit, and reimbursement of past costs. Grants typically range from $500 to $2,500, with $6,170 awarded in the previous year to a range of local service organizations. Funding may be used for specific programs, projects, or general operating support, with the exception of religious entities, which may not request general operating support. Proposals that do not comply with the published guidelines will be deemed ineligible. Grant decisions are typically announced approximately two months after the close of the application window. Decisions are informed in part by an annual Community Needs Assessment conducted by Fund members.
