The "Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPOREs) in Cancer Health Disparities and Minority Health (CHD-MH)" grant is designed to fund research programs that aim to improve the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer in underserved and/or underrepresented populations, with a focus on translating research findings into real-world applications.

The purpose of this Planning Cooperative Agreement is to provide resources to Tribes interested in entering the Tribal Self-Governance Program (TSGP) and to existing Self Governance Tribes interested in assuming new or expanded PSFAs. Title V of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA) requires a Tribe or Tribal organization (T/TO) to complete a planning phase to the satisfaction of the Tribe. The planning phase must include legal and budgetary research and internal Tribal government planning and organizational preparation relating to the administration of health care programs. The planning phase is critical to negotiations and helps Tribes make informed decisions about which Programs, Services, Functions, and Activities (PSFAs to assume and what organizational changes or modifications are necessary to successfully support those PSFAs. A thorough planning phase improves timeliness and efficient negotiations and ensures that the Tribe is fully prepared to assume the transfer of IHS PSFAs to the Tribal health program. A Planning Cooperative Agreement is not a prerequisite to enter the TSGP and a Tribe may use other resources to meet the planning requirement. Tribes that receive Planning Cooperative Agreements are not obligated to participate in the TSGP and may choose to delay or decline participation based on the outcome of their planning activities. This also applies to existing Self Governance Tribes exploring the option to expand their current PSFAs or assume additional PSFAs.

This program is authorized by 34 U.S.C. 12514. This Fiscal Year 2024 Restorative Practices Pilot Program Evaluation Solicitation (RPPP Evaluation) invites applications to conduct research and evaluation on restorative practices in collaboration with pilot sites and training and technical assistance (TTA) providers. The pilot sites and TTA providers will be funded under separate funding announcements; this solicitation is exclusively to fund research and evaluation. OVW anticipates investing approximately $8 million in RPPP Evaluation efforts to answer some but not all of the research questions found on page 8 of this solicitation through approaches that align with OVWs methodological principles for research and evaluation, found on page 12. Applicants should also demonstrate the capacities and competencies described on page 12. OVW expects to issue one award under this solicitation to support various research projects under one award that will generate knowledge that practitioners, policymakers, and the public can use to make decisions about developing, implementing, and using restorative practices to redress the harm caused by domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. The recipient will work in close collaboration with OVW staff, TTA providers, evaluation liaisons, and pilot site practitioners to develop reasonable and useful evaluation measures across and within pilot sites. Additionally, the research that OVW will fund through this award will mirror the aims of restorative practices, use mixed methods approaches, and be adaptable and community-specific with strong researcher-practitioner-community partnerships. OVW anticipates issuing the RPPP Evaluation award as a cooperative agreement that will involve multiple junctures at which the recipient will be required to submit detailed plans for OVWs approval before those plans can proceed. The reason for this is that pilot sites have not been identified yet, and an evaluator cannot realistically determine a detailed and comprehensive evaluation approach without information about the pilot sites. Applicants proposals should include recommended check points at which the evaluator and OVW staff will confer before different phases of project activities proceed.

The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to support the evaluation of early-stage diagnostics and novel diagnostic strategies for Tuberculosis (TB) in the context of existing clinical algorithms in TB endemic countries. Evaluation studies should: 1) perform proof-of principle studies of novel diagnostic tests and strategies for TB, including among people living with HIV (PLWH) and 2) provide feedback to diagnostic developers and policy makers on the performance of the technologies and most effective strategies for use of the diagnostic technologies in an endemic setting.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to build the capacity of states, state and local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Tribal governments to implement new and innovative approaches to enhance existing juvenile drug treatment courts (JDTC) and improve outcomes for youth with substance use disorder or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, including those with histories of trauma.

This funding opportunity supports collaborative research projects in neurology, encouraging diverse teams to tackle significant scientific questions that advance the field through interdependent studies.

The purpose of this program is to enhance Tribes, Tribal organizations, and Urban Indian Organizations capacity to implement core Public Health functions, services, and activities, and to further develop and improve their Public Health management capabilities. As part of the IHS mission to raise the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level, this program seeks to build on and strengthen community resilience by supporting wider access to the 10 Essential Public Health Services (EPHS) in Indian Country, a framework designed to offer all people a fair and just opportunity to achieve optimal health and well-being. Notice of Funding Opportunity Description Background Although vaccines are among the most effective approaches to control viral diseases, developing a prophylactic or therapeutic HIV vaccine has proven elusive. There are no licensed vaccines for HIV. Strategies for induction of HIV broadly neutralizing antibodies will likely require repeated exposures over long periods, including immunization with distinct antigens in sequential order. Such immunization strategies will require development of technologies for controlled vaccine release. Recent advances in materials-based science, controlled release technologies, delivery systems, and immunology provide opportunities to enhance the quality, potency and durability of vaccine-induced T cell and antibody responses to HIV-1. Materials-based approaches can be engineered to improve the stability, spatiotemporal release, and presentation of multiple vaccine components; for example, by controlling the time frame and dose of vaccine delivery over days to weeks. Recent studies have shown that a slow-release vaccine is superior to bolus administration at inducing breadth, potency, and durability of antibody responses to HIV antigens by prolonging antigen exposure in the germinal centers, thereby enhancing the maturation of B cells and generating stronger humoral immune responses. Further research is needed to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the immunological improvements observed with slow-release vaccine delivery and to translate such concepts into clinical application. It will be crucial to determine how the duration of exposure to vaccine components impacts immune cell biology, and how to calibrate vaccine release to improve responses while avoiding immune exhaustion and over-activation. Advancing safe, effective, and well-tolerated controlled release vaccines is an unmet need that may enhance vaccine effectiveness and practicality, leading to better adherence to complex regimens, fewer adverse reactions, and cost savings. Finally, iterative behavioral studies during product development to determine vaccine/provider product expectation/preferences are critical to facilitate product uptake and use.

The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to invite applications for the Centers for Research in Emerging Infectious Diseases (CREID) Network Coordination Center (CC). The CREID Network, comprised of all recipients under this NOFO and the companion NOFO [insert NOFO number here], serves to expand knowledge on re-emerging and emerging infectious diseases (re/EIDs) around the globe where outbreaks are most likely to occur while developing expertise, capacity, and readiness to address outbreak-related research. The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to invite applications for Research Centers (RC) to support the Centers for Research in Emerging Infectious Diseases (CREID) Network. The CREID network serves to expand knowledge on re-emerging and emerging infectious diseases (re/EIDs) around the globe where outbreaks are most likely to occur. The Volunteer Fire Capacity (VFC) Program is a federally funded grant program that allows California to provide local and rural fire departments with minor firefighting, training, communications and safety equipment for their volunteer firefighters. The VFC Program is not intended for major equipment (fire engines, vehicles, etc.) or Capital repairs. The OVW Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction Grant Program (Tribal Jurisdiction Program) (Assistance Listing # 16.025) supports tribes in their efforts to exercise special Tribal criminal jurisdiction (STCJ) over non-Indians who commit "covered crimes" within the Tribe's jurisdictional boundaries and provides technical assistance for planning and implementing changes in their criminal justice systems necessary to exercise the jurisdiction. The purpose of this document is to advise the public that the NOAA RESTORE Science Program is soliciting proposals for projects of five years in duration with the option for a five year, non-competitive renewal award for high-performing projects. The Regional Alliances and Multistakeholder Partnerships to Stimulate (RAMPS) Cybersecurity Education and Workforce Development (RAMPS) Program seeks to build multistakeholder workforce partnerships of employers, schools and institutions of higher education, and other community organizations. Effective multistakeholder workforce partnerships will organize multiple employers with skill shortages in specific occupations to focus on developing the skilled workforce to meet industry needs within the local or regional economy.

The Department is combining three major discretionary grant programs and two fiscal years of funding into one Multimodal Projects Discretionary Grant (MPDG) opportunity to reduce the burden for state and local applicants and increase the pipeline of shovel-worthy projects that are now possible because of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The National Infrastructure Project Assistance (Mega) program was created in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to fund major projects that are too large or complex for traditional funding programs. It is a highly competitive program. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provides $5 billion for Mega over 5 years, of which approximately $1.7 billion remains and will be made available through this NOFO. Half of the funds available in each fiscal year is reserved for projects greater than $500 million in cost, and half is reserved for projects greater than $100 million but less than $500 million in cost. Applications will be evaluated on six outcome criteria, economic analysis, project readiness, and statutory requirements. The six outcome criteria are: (1) safety; (2) state of good repair; (3) economic impacts, freight movement, and job creation; (4) climate change, resilience, and the environment; (5) equity, multimodal options, and quality of life; and (6) innovation areas: technology, project delivery, and financing. Applicants that wish to submit the same application to be considered for more than one grant program under the MPDG combined NOFO only need to submit their application through one Grants.gov opportunity number and that application will be considered for all programs for which it is not opted-out or ineligible. It is not necessary to submit multiple of the same application under the other MPDG Grants.gov opportunities.
