Grants for Small Businesses

Grant funds for this program are for small agricultural businesses that have been financially impacted by severe drought and/or flooding in the State of California and will be disbursed in the following groups for awards of up to $100,000. Drought Groups: • Drought Group 3 funds will be allocated to qualified small agricultural businesses that do not file their 2022 tax returns until 2024 (application opens in 2024).     Previous funding groups (Drought Groups 1 and 2, and Flood Group 1) are closed and funds are no longer available. The current allocation of funds is only applicable for agricultural businesses that meet the definition above for Drought Group 3.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to select organization(s) to provide training and technical assistance geared toward strengthening prosecution efforts as listed below: Prosecution of cases of child victimization while in custodial care. These are cases in which children or youth report that they have been victimized while in out-of-home placement, whether that is foster care, group home, shelter care, or a custodial setting. These cases are far less likely to result in prosecution than cases in which a child or youth has been victimized while not in out-of-home placement.

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL), in coordination with the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs (EAP), announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for a project that will increase sub-national, democratic, and people-to-people ties between Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Taiwan. The "DoD Bone Marrow Failure, Investigator-Initiated Research Award" is a grant that provides two levels of funding: one for expanding mature research ideas and key discoveries in bone marrow failure, and another for supporting the development of new drugs for bone marrow failure treatment, with the ultimate goal of improving patient care and finding effective treatments and cures.

CDPs Foreign Assistance Leveraged for Cybersecurity Operational Needs FALCON project is intended to establish and maintain a reservoir of primarily commercial cybersecurity and technology capabilities that CDP can draw upon in short order and in a wide variety of situations to support U.S. allies and partners to effectively prevent, respond to, mitigate, and recover from cybersecurity incidents. The objective of the project is to support partner governments, their subordinate agencies and critical infrastructure operators and partners in their efforts to identify, prevent, respond to, mitigate and recover from cybersecurity incidents.

OVC seeks field-generated proposals that offer innovative solutions that will increase access to victim services and expand the options available to crime victims, especially in underserved communities. This solicitation encourages prospective applicants to partner with nontraditional partners that may not be typically associated with the victim services field.

The "Single Source for the Continuation of the Human Pancreas Analysis Program (HPAP) for Type 1 Diabetes (HPAP-T1D)" grant is intended to fund the University of Pennsylvania's ongoing research into understanding and combating Type 1 Diabetes, by studying human pancreatic tissues and immune cells, and sharing their findings through an open-access database.

The Employment Development Department (EDD), in coordination with the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA), announces the availability of up to $1 million in California State General Funds for the Evaluation and Technical Assistance (ETA) for the Displaced Oil and Gas Worker Fund (DOGWF). The DOGWF ETA PY 23-24 awardee will be responsible for providing evaluation and technical assistance for DOGWF PY 23-24 program awardees as they pioneer initiatives that guide displaced oil and gas workers into new jobs and career trajectories by extending beyond singular sectors, committed to securing stable, well-compensated, and gratifying roles for these workers across diverse industries. The DOGWF ETA PY 23-24 grant aims to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of DOGWF projects. The initiative seeks to fund an organization with expertise in assessing program and operational capacity, facilitating Communities of Practice (CoPs), conducting a developmental evaluation for continuous learning and improvement, and addressing the needs of displaced workers impacted by energy sector shifts for future policy and program planning. In addition, the ETA awardee will support program grantees with developing and implementing strategies for partnership development, participant assessment, skills transfer, career navigation, administering training stipends, providing wrap-around support, identifying relevant career pathways and training programs, and guidance on participant tracking and performance outcomes reporting. Applicants for the DOGWF ETA must be organizations with the capacity, relationships, and expertise to deliver ETA to grantees across the state. Proposals from non-profit or for-profit consulting, technical assistance, evaluation, capacity-building organizations, labor organizations, community colleges, adult education providers, workforce boards, and education and training providers will be accepted. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) announced the Fiscal Year 2024 Solar Energy Supply Chain Incubator funding opportunity (FOA), which will provide up to $50.5 million for research, development, and demonstration (RD) projects that de-risk solar hardware, manufacturing processes, and software products across a wide range of solar technology areas. The research and development (R) and demonstration (RD) activities to be funded under this FOA will support the government-wide approach to the climate crisis by driving the innovation that can lead to the deployment of clean energy technologies, which are critical for climate protection. Specifically, this FOA will support the DOE decarbonization goals by advancing innovative solar hardware, software, and manufacturing processes across a broad range of technology readiness levels, from laboratory-scale to pilot-scale testing and prototype demonstration. Technologies of interest include photovoltaics (PV), systems integration, and concentrating solar-thermal power (CSP) technologies, as well as those that connect solar with storage or electric vehicles and dual-use PV applications like agrivoltaics and vehicle-integrated PV. SETO encourages for-profit applicants to team with diverse institutions including academic institutions, non-profits, state and local governments, and Tribal governments. The FOA also seeks projects that provide outreach, education, or technology development for software that delivers an automated permit review and approval process for rooftop solar PV with or without energy storage.
