This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) invites grant applications from institutions/organizations that propose to build a Medical Rehabilitation Research Center. The centers will have a specific rehabilitation research theme and be comprised of a research project supported by 3 cores. The 3 cores will have functions within the center as well as functions nationwide. Together, the cores will support: administrative functions (including an optional pilot program), resource sharing, and community engagement and outreach. The Medical Rehabilitation Research Centers will contribute tomedical rehabilitation research infrastructure by developing and disseminating techniques, data, theories, research programs, and expertise with the goal of enhancing the capability of medical rehabilitation investigators to understand mechanisms of functional recovery, develop therapeutic strategies, identify clinical care gaps, and improve the lives of people with disabilities. Applications must include a plan for inclusion of People with Lived Experience (as a required other attachment) that is relevant to the research theme of the center and increases the potential impact of the center.

Traditional master artists receive $5,000, and apprentices receive $500. SFA's strategic priority is to identify and support artists who demonstrate mastery of their art form, community recognition, and the ability to effectively share traditional knowledge. This approach reflects a theory of change that informal, community-rooted mentorship is the most effective way to transmit and sustain traditional arts. Expected outcomes include the successful transfer of traditional art skills and knowledge from master to apprentice, leading to a strengthened base of cultural practitioners. Measurable results would involve the number of successful apprenticeships, the continuation or revitalization of specific traditional art forms, and the increased recognition and practice of these traditions within their respective communities. The program ensures that applicants are full-time Arizona residents, further embedding the initiative within the local cultural landscape.

Under the broader Program Enhancement Projects for Adult Education, Section 243 focuses on Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE). This program supports English language learners in improving their literacy and understanding of American civics, aiming for better integration, employment, and educational opportunities. Eligible providers are encouraged to propose projects that combine IELCE educational services with integrated education and training (IET), reflecting the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act’s (WIOA) objectives. This funding opportunity, spanning fiscal years 2025 through 2028, promotes collaborations to fulfill the educational needs of English language learners in Connecticut. Grant renewed every year.
