The U.S. Embassy in Amman announces an open competition for not-for-profit organizations registered in Jordan or the U.S. to submit applications to carry out a program to organize the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs program. Please follow all instructions in the Notice of Funding Opportunity. The objective of the proposed inaugural Academy for Women Entrepreneurs program in Jordan is to drive inclusive economic growth and build the capacity of 24 women-led and owned experiential tourism businesses. The program will focus on growing participants business offerings and expanding their ability to promote sustainable and community-led experiential tourism (particularly in the eco-tourism and adventure tourism). It aims to achieve this by incubating 12 existing experiential tourism small businesses and 12 emerging experiential tourism small businesses through a tailored six-month program that targets a total of 24 women entrepreneurs from 12 governorates and utilizes a Training of Trainers (TOT) capacity building model.

The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs (EB) announces an open competition for organizations to submit a statement of interest (SOI) to carry out a program under the International Technology Security and Innovation (ITSI) Fund, created by the CHIPS Act of 2022. Please carefully follow all instructions below. The submission of the SOI is the first step in a two-step process. Applicants must first submit a concise no more than three (3) page statement of interest designed to clearly communicate the program idea and objectives. This is not a full proposal. The purpose of the SOI process is to allow applicants to submit program ideas for evaluation prior to requiring the development of a full proposal application. Upon a merit review of eligible SOIs, selected applicants will be invited to expand on their program idea(s) by submitting a full proposal application. Full proposals will go through a second merit review before final funding decisions are made. EB administers a portion of the ITSI Fund, the ITSI Promote line of effort, to help expand international semiconductor assembly, testing, and packaging (ATP or downstream) capacity in key partner countries that will in turn diversify the global semiconductor supply chain. EBs objectives under the ITSI Fund are to: 1) Expand and diversify the required workforce for semiconductor ATP facilities to ensure growth; and 2) Improve regulatory environments that will encourage private sector efforts that generate additional capabilities in ATP facilities. This solicitation is specific to Vietnam and includes two (2) categories under which applicants may submit SOIs: 1) Workforce Development, and 2) Policy and Regulatory Reform. The theory of change behind this grant program is that by funding accessible, public events focused on urban agriculture, GrowBoston can increase residents' engagement and knowledge, leading to a more robust and sustainable local food system. The grant also emphasizes restoring diminished community tree canopy, diversifying urban forests for long-term resilience, and ensuring urban forests provide ecosystem services such as cleaner air, improved watershed health, reduced erosion, stormwater runoff, and reduced urban heat island effects. Expected outcomes and measurable results include addressing historic inequities in urban forestry, adapting urban forest accessibility to changing demographics, promoting the Indiana nursery and arboriculture industries, and enhancing the built environment through increased property values and reduced energy demands. The grant supports activities such as the development of tree inventories or urban tree canopy assessments, creation or update of urban forestry management/response plans, education and training, and community engagement and tree planting initiatives. All tree planting projects must include community engagement, occur on public property, utilize 100% native Indiana species (with limited exceptions for Acer genus trees), and include a maintenance plan. Other supported activities include urban wood utilization, establishment of urban food forests, invasive species removal, and community website development specific to urban forestry.
