This annual notice of funding opportunity outlines our funding priorities and areas of interest, as well as procedures for submitting requests for funding. PAS Paramaribo invites proposals from NGOs, individuals and government educational institutions for programs that contribute to the improvement of social, economic or environmental conditions in Suriname and which further one or more of the priorities listed below. All programs must include a connection with American cultural element(s), expert(s), organization(s) or institution(s) that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy, culture, and perspectives.Priority Program Areas Strengthening democracy Promoting civic involvement, free and fair elections, or democratic governance at the local or national level in a non-partisan manner.Addressing climate change and environmental education Nurturing efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change and reduce food and water insecurity, particularly among underserved and vulnerable populations.Limiting Corruption - Supporting efforts to counter or prevent corruption in business or government, including efforts to develop greater fiscal transparency, enhance the rule of law, and/or protect intellectual property rights.Supporting a free and expressive media environment Strengthening the professionalism of the media and/or advancing media literacy within the population.Advancing diversity, equality, inclusion, and accessibility for all marginalized communities Addressing issues involving ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, physical disabilities, and/or indigenous and tribal communities.Promoting academic linkages Creating programs or exchanges designed to increase college and university professional linkages between the U.S. and Suriname, especially with community colleges and technical schools.Empowering women Creating programs focused on the mentorship of women entrepreneurs and/or supporting womens increased participation in civil society.Developing Alumni Supporting programs led by, supported by, or involving the Suriname American Alumni Association, its members, or alumni of U.S. exchange programs.Enhancing agricultural production Supporting efforts that advance understanding of modern agricultural practices and expanding entrepreneurship skills with the goal of increasing exports to U.S. and EU markets.Supporting cultural exchange Hosting cultural performances, artistic workshops, trainings, and exhibitions that highlight the deep and ongoing ties between the United States and Suriname and our shared democratic values.

This funding opportunity supports innovative research and development in biological technologies that enhance national security, targeting universities, nonprofits, small businesses, and industry participants, particularly those with commercial potential.

The UST Cleanup Fund provides a means for petroleum UST owners and operators to meet the federal and state requirements of maintaining financial responsibility to pay for damages arising from unauthorized releases from their petroleum USTs. The Fund assists a large number of small businesses and individuals by providing reimbursement for expenses associated with the cleanup of leaking USTs.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to organizations focused on restoring wetlands in Maui County, promoting environmental sustainability and community well-being.

Seabird Monitoring and Predator Management at Kokee Air Force Station, Kauai - All tasks associated with this requirement have an avian and/or predator control focus and shall be conducted on the island of Kauai. The execution of this project assists the United States Air Force towards compliance with the U.S. Fish Wildlife Services Biological Opinion and the subsequent remediation efforts related to island seabirds. Fort Wainwright Alaska and Donnelly Training Area Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance Support, Fort Wainwright, Alaska - The primary objective of this requirement is to implement the Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP) to provide healthy and resilient environments that are sustainable, high-quality settings for military training and to protect and enhance biological diversity and ecological health on all Department of Defense (DoD) lands, and to ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulations. CDFW may make grants to, reimburse, or enter into contracts or other agreements, as defined in subdivision (a) of Section 1571, with public and private entities, including universities, nonprofit organizations, and California Native American tribes, as defined in Section 21073 of the Public Resources Code, for the use of the funds from the Upland Game Bird Account to carry out the purposes of Fish and Game Code §3684, including related habitat conservation projects. Any proposal fitting the criteria in this statue is qualified to be funded. 

The Miller / Packan Film Fund, financed through the Rogovy Foundation, supports documentaries that Educate, Inspire, and Enrich. Each year, grants totaling $200,000 are awarded to between eight and twelve filmmakers. The fund operates an open call submission process, and awards are announced bi-annually. Each grant is one-time only and offered in amounts up to $25,000. Submissions for the 2024 Summer Awards are accepted until May 15th, 2024. The fund seeks projects that address social issues in the subject categories of Education, the Environment, and Civics. Filmmakers must be at least 18 years old and the film must be feature-length (at least 70 minutes). International projects with global audience appeal are eligible. The project must have IRS 501(c)(3) status or a Fiscal Sponsor. Non-English language films are eligible but must have English subtitles. Student films and completed films are ineligible. The application requires a narrative description of the project, logline, story summary/synopsis, topic summary, artistic approach, project stage information, key creative personnel bios, audience and distribution strategies, financial information including fundraising strategy and grant impact details, visual sample or rough cut of the film with description and director's prior work sample if available, contact information of the applicant(s), comprehensive line item expense budget including a top sheet summary and detailed breakdown of all expenses from development through release in U.S. dollars using a provided template or similar format, statement of interest explaining how the project relates to the Ideals and Values of the Rogovy Foundation. The selection process is conducted by the staff of the Rogovy Film Fund based on criteria such as compelling story premise aligned with Fund's Ideals and Values and strength of proposal.

This grant provides financial support to New Jersey farmers and agricultural organizations for purchasing and maintaining manure spreaders, promoting shared equipment use, and implementing nutrient management practices to protect water quality.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture is offering a grant of over $1 million through its Dairy Plus Program to California dairy farms for implementing advanced manure management practices that reduce methane emissions and manage nitrogen and salt surplus, with a focus on climate-smart practices and product markets.
