Utilizing CMP funds from the federal CMS, long-term care facilities will be able to implement as few as one (1) and as many as six (6) projects for their Long-Term Care facility. In an effort to support the maintenance of cognitive and mobility skills, the Illinois Department of Public Health, Office of Healthcare Regulation (OHCR) announces an opportunity for certified facilities to submit applications for projects that must provide the residents of long term care facilities with a program or project deliverable that meaningfully improves the quality of life or quality of care for residents in the facility. These projects should deliver direct improvements to quality of life, direct improvements to quality of care, alternatives to pharmacological interventions, alternative behavioral management, training programs and implementation.

The BlueAngel Community Health Grant program at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island aims to fund organizations and programs that will result in more Rhode Islanders being able to afford safe, healthy, and stable housing. The program seeks to increase awareness about safe, affordable housing as a shared public concern and highlight solutions to support access to safe and affordable housing. The grant is open to Rhode Island nonprofit agencies that have qualified for exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code or are public instrumentalities. Funding amounts historically range from $25,000 per year to $75,000 per year. Applicants are invited to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI), which will be reviewed by a BCBSRI LOI Review Subcommittee. Selected agencies will then be invited to submit full proposals for funding. Site visits will be conducted by Community Relations staff with each of the finalist organizations. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications to enhance the pool of of highly trained investigators from diverse backgrounds , including those from groups underrepresented in research areas of interest to the NHLBI. The career development will take place under the guidance of an experienced mentor in the biomedical, behavioral or clinical sciences leading to research independence. It is targeted toward individuals whose basic, clinical, and translational research interests are grounded in the advanced methods and experimental approaches needed to solve problems related to cardiovascular, pulmonary, and hematologic diseases and sleep disorders in the general and health disparities populations. This FOA invites applications from Institutions with eligible faculty members to undertake special study and supervised research under a mentor who is an accomplished investigator in the research area proposed and has experience in developing independent investigators. This FOA is designed specifically for applicants proposing research that does not involve leading an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or a separate ancillary clinical trial, as part of their research and career development. Applicants to this FOA are permitted to propose research experience in a clinical trial led by a mentor or co-mentor. Applicants proposing a clinical trial or an ancillary clinical trial as lead investigator, should apply to the companion FOA (see RFA-HL-22-010).
