This program is part of the Emmett Till Unsolved Civil Rights Crime Act, which seeks to address murder cases suspected to be racially motivated, that were committed before January 1, 1980. The program’s ultimate purpose is to bring closure to the victims’ families and the impacted communities, and to bring those responsible to justice.
