This funding opportunity supports experienced researchers looking to expand their expertise or shift their career focus through advanced training and research experiences at various institutions.

Fiscal Year 2024 Key Objectives Application proposals must include at least one of the following three objectives identified below. Proposals may contain more than one objective. As noted in Section 4, applicants must map their proposed activities and indicators measuring success to the objective(s) using the Activities/Indicators Tracker. If awarded, grantees will be required to use the FNS-908 Performance Progress Report to report on progress towards activities that align with the required objective(s) listed on the Activities/Indicators Tracker. Carefully considering proposed activities and indicators will prepare grantees for their performance progress reporting requirements if awarded. The project examples aligned with each objective listed below are only suggestions. A PTIG project may assist State agencies in making investments in systems to improve efficiency, provide excellent customer service, and meet Federal standards as they face unprecedented operational challenges. FNS welcomes other projects that support these objectives and encourages applicants to propose innovative ideas to solve both common and unique problems associated with SNAP application and eligibility processes. 1. Modernize SNAP customer service and client communication to improve accessibility, transparency, and responsiveness in processing applications and determining eligibility. 2. Improve administrative infrastructure and day-to-day SNAP operations in processing applications and determining eligibility. 3. Invest in technology and systems to encourage cross collaboration and cross enrollment between SNAP and other Federal, State, and local assistance programs. PD Eswatini invites proposals for programs that strengthen cultural ties between the U.S. and Eswatini through cultural and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. The Integrated Atmospheric Deposition Network (IADN) was established in 1990 as a binational monitoring network between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), in response to scientific evidence that demonstrated that input from the atmosphere is a significant source of many persistent toxic chemicals to the Great Lakes. Since 1990, IADN has monitored persistent toxic chemicals in vapor, particulates, and precipitation at both urban and rural sites across the Great Lakes basin. Master stations are in rural areas on four of the Great Lakes (Eagle Harbor, MI; Sleeping Bear Dunes, MI; Sturgeon Point, NY; ECCC Station: Point Petre, ON) to characterize the background basin-wide trends of persistent toxic chemical loadings to the lakes. Satellite stations are also located in two urban areas (Chicago, IL and Cleveland, OH) to better understand the contribution of large urban areas to persistent toxic chemical loadings to the Great Lakes. All stations are operated by EPA, except for Point Petre which is operated by ECCC. Funding for IADN is provided by the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI or Initiative). The GLRI builds on the prior efforts of federal, state, and local agencies; Indian Tribes; businesses; public interest groups; interested citizens; and others to develop a collaborative and comprehensive approach to restoring the Great Lakes. Information about the Initiative can be found at GLRI.us. The statutory authority of the GLRI to award cooperative agreements is contained in the Clean Water Act, Section 118(c)(7), as amended by Public Law 114-322. The EPA has authority to award grants and cooperative agreements for planning, research, monitoring, outreach, and implementation projects in furtherance of the GLRI and the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement (GLWQA).This Request for Applications (RFA) solicits applications from eligible entities for a cooperative agreement to be awarded pursuant to the statutory authority referenced above and the GLRI Action Plan III.

The purpose of the Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building Grant Program is to assist states; Federally recognized Native American Tribes that have an U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-authorized lead abatement certification program; cities, and counties/parishes, or other units of local government which have either not received a direct HUD lead hazard control grant or were a previous grantee that has a demonstrated need to rebuild capacity within their jurisdiction. Rebuilding capacity may be necessary for jurisdictions that have diminished infrastructure and capacity due to extenuating circumstances such as COVID, loss of experienced staff, or other factors that have negatively impacted the capacity necessary to undertake comprehensive programs to identify and control lead-based paint hazards. Current grantees that have an active period of performance are not eligible to apply.The program will help applicants with developing and expanding the infrastructure necessary to undertake comprehensive programs to identify and control lead-based paint hazards in eligible privately owned rental or owner-occupied housing. The capacity objectives to ensure the successful implementation of a lead hazard control grant program relies on the following implementation of several key program components listed below.Build local capacity to determine the prevalence of childhood lead poisoning among children under six years in the targeted community(ies);Build local capacity to safely and effectively address lead hazards during lead hazard control and renovation, remodeling, and maintenance activities by integrating lead-safe work practices;Developing and implementing procedures/guidelines for program activities that include program intake of potential program participants and establishing a system, or process that will facilitate lead-safe units to be affirmatively marketed to families with young children, such as advertising available units to such families where lead-based paint hazards have been controlled;Hire qualified staff with experienced organizational management and financial capacity to immediately execute the program upon receipt of a grant award;Promote collaboration, data sharing, and targeting between health and housing departments;Developing key partnerships/subgrantees such as: faith-based, health departments, coalitions, or other community-based organizations;Integrating strategies to incorporate lead hazard control into existing housing repair programs; (e.g., housing rehabilitation, local housing ordinance, property maintenance, weatherization, housing-related health hazard interventions, and energy conservation activities);Obtaining high quality data to target resources where need is greatest; andDeveloping systems for sustaining a lead hazard control program after successful completion of a capacity building grant program.
