This funding opportunity provides $3.5 million over five years to organizations that will create a national resource hub for improving healthcare access and outcomes in rural communities across the United States.

The U.S. Embassy Port Louis Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations or individuals to submit a Statement of Interest (SOI) to carry out a program (or programs) to promote bilateral relationships between the U.S. and Mauritius and Seychelles. Please carefully read and follow all instructions below. The submission of the SOI is the first step in a two-step process. Applicants must first submit a concise (1500 word) statement of interest designed to clearly communicate program ideas and objectives. This is not a full proposal. The purpose of the SOI process is to allow applicants to submit program ideas for evaluation prior to requiring the development of a full proposal application. Upon a merit review of eligible SOIs, selected applicants will be invited to expand on their program idea(s) by submitting a full proposal application. Full proposals will go through a second merit review before final funding decision are made. Two-round process: In Round 1, applicants submit a concise Statement of Interest (SOI) of no more than 1,500 words that describes the program ideas and their objectives. The Public Diplomacy Section will review SOIs and invite a limited group of applicants to continue in Round 2. This notice details the application requirements and procedures to obtain grant funding for projects on the Northeast Corridor (NEC) under the Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Program for Fiscal Year 2024. The program aims to reduce the State of Good Repair backlog, improve performance, or expand or establish new intercity passenger rail service. Eligible applicants include states, groups of states, interstate compacts, public agencies, political subdivisions, Amtrak, federally recognized Indian tribes, and combinations of these entities. The total funding available is $2,034,420,932, and applications are due by July 15, 2024. The projects must be listed in the 2024 Northeast Corridor Project Inventory and comply with the selection and evaluation criteria outlined in the notice.

(Reissue PAR-21-058). The purpose of this Program Announcement (PAR) is to enable clinical validation of strong candidate biomarkers for neurological diseases and conditions. Specifically, the goal of this PAR is to enable the rigorous validation of biomarker measurements within the clinical population of interest to establish the positive and negative predictive values of the candidate biomarker consistent with FDA guidelines. This PAR assumes that 1) a candidate biomarker has already been identified, 2) detection method technology has already been developed and analytically validated, and 3) the research and/or clinical need and potential context of use has been identified.

The purpose of this initiative is to support research to improve health and promote health equity in rural populations. Rural populations experience high rates of many causes of morbidity and disability, and high and increasing rates of premature death. Meaningful and sustained improvements in the health of rural populations require effective solutions to address the underlying causes. Applications responding to this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) should develop, adapt, or implement intervention strategies addressing social determinants of health (SDOH) to improve health and promote health equity in rural populations. This funding opportunity encourages studies that use a wide range of methodological approaches that enhance access to, and acceptability and effectiveness of, interventions in rural populations, such as community-engaged research approaches that build on the strengths of rural communities.
