The National Cancer Institute (NCI) intends to issue a notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) for the Research Specialist Award (R50) specifically for clinician scientists supporting NCI-funded clinical trials research. The Research Specialists Award is designed to encourage the development of stable research career opportunities for exceptional clinician scientists who want to continue to participate in the NCI clinical trials networks through leadership in the 1) development of clinical trials, 2) implementation of NCI clinical trials in their institutions, and 3) national service to the NCI clinical trials networks through participation in the scientific review committees, monitoring committees and other activities, but not serve as principal investigator of research project grants. This Notice of Intent to Publish is being provided to allow sufficient time for applicants to develop strong applications. Applications are limited to four per institution per receipt date including new (A0) and resubmissions (A1). NCI-designated cancer center consortia are considered one institution. NCI seeks a broad representation of institutions for this award mechanism and may take this into account when making funding decisions. The NOFO is expected to be published in late summer 2024 with only one expected application due date of November 5, 2024.

This program aims to provide technical assistance (TA) to employers (which may include public sector entities) and labor unions in the United States and its territories to encourage employment of women in both apprenticeable occupations and nontraditional occupations (A/NTO), specifically in the following ways:Developing (establishing, expanding, and/or enhancing) pre-apprenticeship, youth apprenticeship, Registered Apprenticeship (as defined in Appendix B "Acronyms and Definitions"), or other nontraditional skills training programs designed to prepare women for careers in A/NTO;Providing ongoing orientations or other resources for employers, unions, and workers on creating a successful environment for women in A/NTO; and/orSetting up support groups, facilitating networks, and/or providing supportive services (as defined in section IV.E.3) for women in A/NTO to improve their retention.Applicants may propose to provide technical assistance to support womens participation and success in the full range of industries in which women are historically underrepresented or where women are disproportionately concentrated in the lower-wage occupations. Applicants with experience working with or as an equity intermediary are encouraged to apply, as well as applicants with a proposed focus on expanding outreach/recruitment to historically underrepresented communities, including but not limited to women of color and women with disabilities, women at or below the federal poverty line, formerly incarcerated women, immigrant women, transgender women, and women who live in rural geographic areas. The U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa - Democratic Republic of Congo through the U.S. Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Coordination Office (PCO) is pleased to announce an open Notification of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for organizations to submit applications that support Community - led Monitoring (CLM) activities, to be implemented in close collaboration with local Community-based organizations and other civil society groups, networks of key populations (KP), people living with HIV (PLHIV), youth and adolescents including children and other HIV-affected groups. The CLM program will be implemented in the three PEPFAR provinces including Kinshasa, Haut-Katanga and Lualaba. Community-led monitoring or CLM is a routinized process initiated and implemented by local HIV-positive and HIV-affected communities, community-based organizations and other civil society groups that identifies HIV service delivery successes, diagnoses problems, uses quantitative and qualitative data to overcome barriers and ensure that HIV service beneficiaries receive optimal client-centered services. The intention of CLM is for local community leadership to get inputs from recipients and providers of HIV services, including key populations and underserved groups, in a routine and systematic manner and translate their findings into action and change in collaboration with host governments and health systems. CLM is a tool within the community engagement process, a strategic collaboration of multiple partnerships within a designated geographic location. CLM leverages community engagement to empower community members to identify successes, diagnose problems, use data-driven approaches to overcome barriers, and ensure beneficiaries receive optimal client-centered services in a productive, collaborative, respectful, and solutions-oriented manner. This community-driven approach to addressing health challenges often evolves into advocacy, whether driven by the individual, community, organizations, or institutions. The CLM program is funded through the U.S. Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The goal of PEPFAR in DRC is to support efforts to achieve HIV epidemic control through implementation of evidence-based interventions to drive progress in HIV prevention, care and treatment and ultimately, save lives. Through the PEPFAR Coordination Office, the U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa administers this Community grants program and is seeking proposals from registered local Community-based organizations and other civil society groups, networks of key populations (KP), people living with HIV (PLHIV), youth and adolescents including children and other HIV-affected groups, or community entities that gather quantitative and qualitative data about HIV services and whose mission and activities focuses on HIV programming. CLM plays key role to ensuring availability, accessibility, affordability, acceptability, and delivery of timely and quality HIV care and services. CLM will raise public awareness on the rights of PLHIV, KP groups, youth and adolescents and other affected communities, will empower beneficiaries and affected communities to speak out, to increase health literacy, to expand engagement with health service providers, to support demand creation, on one hand; and on the other hand, CLM will hold decisions makers accountable for executing changes to improve HIV service delivery. CLM data will be collected using standardized tools and synthesized through a variety of methods that reveal insights from communities about problems and solutions to health and HIV service delivery at: the facility, community, sub-national and national levels. Thus, CLM data builds evidence on what works well, what is not working and what needs to be improved, with suggestions for targeted action to improve outcomes. Monitoring data should reflect an added value and not duplicate collection of routine data already available to PEPFAR, through its standard reporting. Added value monitoring data includes, but not limited to information from beneficiaries about their experience with the health facility, information about barriers and enablers to access and retention in services etc. CLM mechanisms must be routine to ensure follow up and continuous improvement for sustainability. Results from CLM will be shared with all the stakeholders including host governments, health systems, PEPFAR implementing partners and the PEPFAR team on a regular and systematic basis (monthly, quarterly, and annually), for informing decisions, to improve time and quality service delivery.

The U.S. Embassy in North Macedonia of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a program to carry out its U.S. Speaker Program. The Speaker Program brings dynamic U.S. citizen experts to North Macedonia to engage professional and student audiences throughout the country on topics of strategic importance to the United States and North Macedonia. Specifically, the program seeks to engage local audiences on rule of law reforms; judicial independence; government accountability and transparency; professional journalism practices; combating foreign malign influence; cybersecurity; climate and security issues; diversity, equity, and inclusion; encouraging civic action at the local and community level; culture, arts, and advancing womens economic empowerment through the shared knowledge, expertise, and know-how of U.S. experts. The program also seeks to establish concrete networking and contact-building opportunities among U.S. experts and local audiences. Programs may take place in person or virtually. We highly recommend potential applicants collaborate and coordinate with project partners in North Macedonia in order to implement the requested programs successfully. We expect to select one or more program implementers for grant awards of up to $50,000. U.S. Speakers address strategic policy priorities identified by the U.S. Embassy in North Macedonia. The purpose of the Mentored Research Scientist Career Development Award in Tobacco Regulatory Research (K01) is to provide support and protected time (three, four, or five years) for an intensive, supervised career development experience in biomedical, behavioral, and social science research that will inform the development and evaluation of regulations on tobacco product manufacturing, distribution, and marketing and that will lead to research independence. Research projects must address the research priorities related to the regulatory authority of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) as mandated by the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (FSPTCA), Public Law 111-31.

This competition provides funding for individuals and organizations to develop innovative energy storage technologies that address unique challenges in underserved communities and extreme climates.

The National Leadership Grants for Museums program, administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, supports projects that address significant and pressing needs within the museum sector, with the goal of advancing professional practice and strengthening museum services. The program funds innovative, impactful projects that can be scaled, adapted, or replicated to benefit museums broadly. The 2025 opportunity emphasizes projects that align with IMLS goals: lifelong learning, community engagement, and collections stewardship and access. Projects are expected to demonstrate collaboration, address challenges faced by the field, and generate models, tools, or research findings with wide applicability. The program supports two types of projects: non-research projects and research projects. Non-research projects focus on practical solutions, tools, or models to address critical needs in the museum sector, while research projects aim to investigate questions relevant to museum practice using rigorous data collection and analysis methods. Non-research projects require a one-to-one cost share, while research projects do not require cost sharing. Applicants must clearly articulate their project’s goals, work plans, and results to demonstrate impact and sustainability. IMLS anticipates awarding approximately $5,800,000 in total funding, with an estimated 15 grants to be awarded. Individual awards range from $50,000 to $750,000, with an average award size of $453,106. The period of performance spans one to three years, beginning no earlier than September 1, 2025. Applicants must submit proposals electronically via Grants.gov by November 15, 2024, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. Late submissions will not be considered. Successful applicants will be notified by August 2025. Eligible applicants include museums, institutions of higher education, museum service organizations, tribal organizations, and nonprofit organizations that advance the museum profession. Museums must meet IMLS criteria, including professional staffing, regular public exhibitions, and an educational or cultural mission. Museums operating as discrete units within larger organizations may apply independently if they meet specific eligibility criteria, including budgetary and operational autonomy. Partnerships and collaborations are encouraged to maximize the scope and impact of proposed projects. Applications must include a project narrative addressing three key areas: project justification, work plan, and intended results. The narrative must describe the need or challenge being addressed, identify key activities and milestones, and outline the expected outcomes and plans for broad dissemination. Supporting documents, including budget forms, a performance measurement plan, resumes of key staff, and a data management and sharing plan for research projects, are also required. Applicants must ensure their project aligns with one of the program’s goals: advancing experiential and cross-disciplinary learning, addressing community needs through partnerships, or improving collections care and access. IMLS evaluates applications through a peer review process, considering factors such as the project’s alignment with program goals, clarity and feasibility of the work plan, and potential impact and sustainability. Successful projects will demonstrate the ability to create innovative tools, research findings, or practices that address field-wide challenges and improve museum services. Proposals must include plans for broad dissemination of results to ensure benefits extend beyond the participating institutions. Awardees are required to submit interim and final financial and performance reports and comply with all federal regulations and IMLS award conditions. IMLS provides additional resources, including webinars and technical assistance, to support applicants in developing competitive proposals. The "U.S. Embassy Philippines PAS Annual Program Statement" grant aims to strengthen U.S.-Philippines relations by funding projects that highlight shared values and promote bilateral cooperation, incorporating American cultural elements or connections, and can include public talks, workshops, cultural programs, alumni initiatives, STEM programs, capacity-building workshops for youth and leaders, or studies on the bilateral relationship.

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism ( NIAAA) intends to reissue RFA-AA-23-001, Specialized Alcohol Research Centers (P50, Clinical Trial Optional), by publishing a NOFO to solicit applications for a broad-based Alcohol Research Centers program to foster and conduct interdisciplinary, collaborative research on Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), alcohol misuse and alcohol-related problems, and other health-related consequences across the lifespan.
