The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disorders (NIDDK) intends to promote a new initiative by publishing a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications for the TrialNet Clinical Network Hub (HUB). The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to continue support for the Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Clinical Network Hub (HUB), a screening and clinical activities coordination unit for clinical trials focusing on the prevention of and early intervention in type 1 diabetes (T1D). The main objective of the HUB is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the TrialNet network by providing coordination of communications and outreach and developing new tools and approaches to increase screening, recruitment and retention. This NOFO requires a Plan for Enhancing Diverse Perspectives (PEDP), which will be assessed as part of the scientific and technical peer review evaluation. Applications that fail to include a PEDP will be considered incomplete and will be withdrawn. Applicants are strongly encouraged to read the NOFO instructions carefully and view the available PEDP guidance material. This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. The NOFO is expected to be published in Spring 2024 with an expected application due date in Summer 2024. This NOFO will utilize the U01 activity code. Details of the planned NOFO are provided below.

CDC announces the availability of approximately $7 million in competitive supplemental funding for the 32 health department jurisdictions currently receiving Ending the HIV Epidemic in the US (EHE) initiative funding resources under notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) PS24-0047: High-Impact HIV Prevention and Surveillance Programs for Health Departments. Fully aligned with PS24-0047, the supplemental NOFO prioritizes acceleration of progress toward achieving the national HIV prevention goal of 50% pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) coverage by the end of 2025. Jurisdictions with greater need for PrEP and lower uptake among priority populations disproportionately affected by HIV and low PrEP prescriptions (i.e., Black and Latino gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM), and Black cisgender and transgender women) need these additional resources and flexibility to accelerate PrEP uptake through patient navigation/case management services and improve access to and utilization of existing PrEP services not covered by other financial resources. Recipients will implement enhanced and expanded programmatic activities to increase access to and uptake of PrEP for priority populations and to help further eliminate structural and social barriers that prevent equitable access to PrEP within EHE jurisdictions. Additionally, these enhanced and expanded PrEP programs will incorporate elements to increase HIV non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis (doxy PEP) awareness and access, including activities with clinicians, non-clinical community-based organizations (CBOs), and persons at risk for HIV acquisition.The supplemental NOFO's period of performance is September 30, 2024 - May 31, 2025 (8 months). Recipients may request to continue implementation of supplemental programmatic activities during PS24-0047 Budget Year 2 (June 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026). Recipients will implement concurrently all required programmatic activities as described in both PS24-0047 and the forthcoming supplemental NOFO.

Through this initiative, SNEP plans to fund a host of planning, implementation, outreach, training, capacity, and staff-building projects that correspond with the goals, objectives and priorities outlined in SNEPs Five-Year Strategic Plan.

The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to support investigators who will form large, electronically-generated cohorts in Latin America of HIV-negative men who have sex with men (MSM), transgender women (TGW), people who inject drugs (PWID), and/or female sex-workers and follow them to study the epidemiology of HIV incidence. Continued follow-up of those persons who acquire HIV will be required to study the epidemiology of viral suppression. Comparisons of participants by seroconverstion status will provide information on geographic and socially defined areas of high HIV incidence as well as on both personal and structural vulnerabilities to HIV infection. Among participants who seroconvert, comparisons of those becoming rapidly engaged in care and who reach non-detectable HIV levels to those whose virus remains detectable will inform on the treatment of HIV in Latin American countries. This NOFO will allow digital trials to determine optimal study approaches, or to pilot evidence-based digital (mHealth and online) HIV prevention and treatment interventions to both reduce HIV incidence and improve treatment in the most vulnerable populations.Letter of Intent Due Date(s) 30 days prior to the application due date

With this solicitation, NIJ seeks rigorous, applied evaluative research on: (1) police training; (2) police accountability policies and practices; (3) investigative practices to enhance clearance rates; and (4) police officer health and wellness programs. Successful applicants should propose the most rigorous design to answer their proposed research questions. NIJ will consider research designs that include qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods designs. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and strong quasi-experimental designs are required for proposals to conduct outcome evaluations. NIJ will give special consideration to proposals with methods that include meaningful engagement with the people closest to the subject of study, including practitioners as well as community members representing crime victims, people under criminal justice supervision, and members of high-crime communities. Applicants are encouraged to propose multidisciplinary research teams to build on the complementary strengths of different methods and areas of subject matter expertise. NIJ also seeks proposals that include consideration and measurement of issues of diversity, discrimination, and bias across age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation, as applicable. Applications proposing research involving partnerships with juvenile justice, criminal justice or other agencies should include a strong letter of support, signed by an appropriate decisionmaking authority from each proposed, partnering agency. A letter of support should include the partnering agency’s acknowledgment that de-identified data derived from, provided to, or obtained through an award funded by NIJ will be archived by the grant recipient with the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD) at the conclusion of the award. Applicants and their potential partners are encouraged to review NIJ’s data archiving guidance. If selected for an award, grantees will be expected to have a formal agreement in place with partnering agencies by January 1, 2025. That formal agreement must include a provision to meet the data archiving requirements of the award. NIJ seeks proposals that include robust, creative, and multi-pronged dissemination strategies that include strategic partnerships with organizations and associations that are best equipped to ensure that research findings lead to changes in policies and practices. Special consideration will be given to proposals that dedicate at least 15% of the requested project award funding toward implementing such strategies, as demonstrated in the “Budget Worksheet and Budget Narrative.” In the case of partnerships that will involve the use of federal award funds by multiple partnering agencies to carry out the proposed project, only one entity/partnering agency may be the applicant (as is the case with any application submitted in response to this solicitation); any Page 8 O-NIJ-2024-172011 others must be proposed as subrecipients. The applicant is expected to conduct the preponderance of the work proposed.

The purpose of the RRTCs, which are funded through the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program, is to achieve the goals of, and improve the effectiveness of, services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act through well-designed research, training, technical assistance, and dissemination activities in important topical areas as specified by NIDILRR. These activities are designed to benefit people with disabilities, family members, rehabilitation service providers, policymakers and other research stakeholders. The purpose of this particular RRTC is to conduct research, training, technical assistance, and related activities to contribute to improved employment outcomes of adults with Serious Mental Illness. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.
