The purpose of this funding opportunity is to support the research and development necessary to advance non-invasive (e.g., quantitative tomography-based) technologies, including the development of apparatus, methods, study designs, and methods of data analysis, to characterize and compare the rate and extent to which a topically applied drug becomes available at or near a site of action within the skin in vivo. The expectation is that the funded work will produce an accurate, sensitive and reproducible approach that rapidly measures the (relative) amount of drug present in the skin at a series of depths below the skin surface, which can be utilized to monitor the cutaneous pharmacokinetics (PK) of the drug at selected depths (e.g., in the epidermis) by repeated, serial measurements over time. The intent is to support the eventual development of an alternative, scientifically valid, in vivo cutaneous PK-based approach that can be used to efficiently demonstrate the bioequivalence (BE) of topical products.

This funding opportunity provides financial support for partners of the Southern Appalachian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit to research and improve the use of remote sensing data for better water management and drought monitoring in the southeastern United States.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Foreign Agricultural Service, International Climate Hub, announces this funding opportunity to support the Technical Agricultural Assistance Program by issuing a new award to to design, plan, and implement the FAS Agricultural Export Market Challenge (Challenge) for the 2024-2025 academic year.Launched as a pilot program in 2021, the Challenge is an immersive learning experience targeted to upper-level undergraduates attending a minority-serving educational institution. The Challenge is designed to increase student awareness around the work of FAS, pique student interest in a career in international trade and within the agency, and provide a rich learning experience, while fostering FAS relationships with participating institutions. In the Challenge, students simulate the work that FAS performs every day in global food and agricultural trade. The simulated export case study in the Challenge will help students gain knowledge and skills across the disciplines of economics, diplomacy, scientific analysis, marketing, and trade policy. The students will develop and propose a market entry strategy for anAmerican company that is seeking export sales opportunities for a hypothetical U.S. food or agricultural product in the students recommended overseas target market.

The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to contribute to the knowledge base of and development of food safety systems globally due to the increasingly diverse and complex food supply. This cooperative agreement will:1) enhance and broaden FDAs ability to address global food safety and public health issues associated with food,2) provide opportunities to leverage additional resources among WTO member countries, and3) support the FDAs Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and its International Food Safety Capacity Building Plan, which emphasizes the concept of preventing food safety- related problems before they occur and the importance of establishing strong relationships and mutual support among all stakeholders, including multilateral organizations, to improve worldwide food safety. 4) Support global research and capacity building to improve best practices to build effective food safety systems in low- and middle-income countries

FY 2024 WIC General Infrastructure Grants will support WIC State agencies as they continue to modernize the program. Projects will support WIC Infrastructure, including technological, digital, partnership, and/or outreach infrastructure at the State agency level through activities related to outreach, innovation, program modernization, and increased equity in program access through four Tracks/objectives. This RFA includes four application Tracks, each with one Objective. The four Tracks include:1) Updating the State agencys management information system (MIS) and/or electronic benefit transfer (EBT) system to meet new Federal requirements.*Please see notes in the Tracks and Objectives section below for information about State agency model (SAM) user groups. 2) Enhancing the State agencys MIS, EBT system, and/or other technology used to provide WIC benefits and services.
