Regional Scale Collaboration to Facilitate a Domestic Critical Minerals Future: Carbon Ore, Rare Earth, and Critical Minerals (CORE-CM) Initiative The planned Research and Development will provide a regional scale understanding of critical minerals prospectivity and provides insight into the potential materials that may be sourced from domestic secondary and unconventional feedstocks across the United States. The work will contribute to the development of a framework that addresses economic and supply chain barriers, leads to pilot scale demos, and broaden scope to include advanced carbon or critical mineral bearing material products.

DE-FOA-0003323: Water Power Innovation Network AMENDMENT 000003: The purpose of this modification is to: Update the Expected Date for EERE Selection Notifications and Expected Timeframe for Award Negotiations. Add clarification to the down-select deliverable, Updated Budget, SOPO, and Project Schedule. Add clear requirements to the Content for the Full Application regarding what information to include for Budget Period 1 versus Budget Period 2. This includes the following changes: The Technical Volume Workplan should include goals, objectives, and anticipated outcomes for each budget period. The Technical Volume Workplan should include a detailed Workplan summary for Budget Period 1 and a preliminary high-level overview for Budget Period 2 of activities to be conducted over Budget Period 2. The Technical Volume Workplan should describe at least one end of project Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely (SMART) goal for each budget period. The Technical Volume Workplan should include a summary of appropriate milestones throughout each budget period. For Budget Period 2 milestones, however, it is sufficient to list approximate, reasonable estimates of what the milestones will be. It is understood that Budget Period 2 activities will be progressively developed over the course of Budget Period 1 and as such precise information on Budget Period 2 activities may not be available during the application process. Project applications will not be penalized for having a lower level of detail of Budget Period 2 activities during the application process. Rather, Budget Period 2 activities will be comprehensively evaluated during the down-select process at the end of Budget Period 1. The Technical Volume Workplan should include a detailed schedule for Budget Period 1 and a preliminary high-level/approximate schedule for Budget Period 2. As with the work plan, it is expected that the Budget Period 2 schedule will be developed over the course of Budget Period 1. Project applications will not be penalized for providing a lower level of detail during the application process. Rather, Budget Period 2 schedules will be comprehensively evaluated during the down-select process at the end of Budget Period 1. An updated associated SOPO template is provided. Add clarification to the Budget Justification Workbook for what to include for Budget Period 1 versus Budget Period 2. WPTO enables research, development, and testing of emerging technologies to advance marine energy as well as next-generation hydropower and pumped storage systems for a flexible, reliable grid. Through this FOA, WPTO seeks to fund new and/or expanded incubator or accelerator programs that enable entrepreneurship and accelerate water power innovation, business creation, and growth in communities and regions throughout the United States. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Action Transmittal AT2024-03 is an official call for Model Plan applications for federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2025, with a submission deadline of September 3, 2024. This announcement, dated April 4, 2024, outlines the process for LIHEAP grant recipients to apply online for FY 2025 funding. The LIHEAP Model Plan has undergone substantive changes for FY25, requiring applicants to adhere to updated guidelines and templates provided by the Office of Community Services (OCS) at the Administration for Children and Families (ACF). The aim is to assist states, the District of Columbia, territories, and tribes or tribal organizations in administering LIHEAP, which helps low-income households with their home energy bills, ensuring health and safety through manageable energy costs.

To realize a clean, decarbonized economy, we must drive innovation to transform resources, materials, and manufacturing for energy applications. The U.S. ramp up of production of technologies that are needed for this energy transition will require new materials, new manufacturing processes, and new circular materials flows. The modernization of manufacturing can help bring these innovations on-line at the needed scale and quality faster. Smart manufacturing provides a systemic approach for this modernization that holds great promise to significantly improve productivity, efficiency, safety, security, and sustainability of U.S. manufacturing and energy systems. Smart manufacturing refers to the suite of platform technologies that directly support the digital transformation of the manufacturing enterprise across the entire production lifecycle, which includes design, process, production, supply network, and enterprise levels. Platform technologies are manufacturing technologies that can be applied to manufacture multiple products.
