The United States Department of Energy’s (DOE) Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program was originally created by the Federal Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 and expanded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). New funding wBIL as allocated to the program in 2021 under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) with the broad goals to reduce carbon emissions and energy use, improve energy efficiency, and increase community investment and local workforce development. IIJA funding made available in 2021 under the EECBG (2021 EECBG) allocated funds directly to state and certain local jurisdictions that met program criteria, with approximately $4.5 million allocated to the State. Of the funds allocated to the State, $4,070,070 are available for the LGBDC.

The Alfred E. Alquist Hospital Facilities Seismic Safety Act (Health and Safety Code (HSC) Section 129675) requires that hospitals be constructed to remain open and safely provide services to the public after an earthquake. The Small and Rural Hospital Relief Program will administer this new grant program to eligible small, rural, or Critical Access hospitals that have limited funds for seismic safety retrofit requirements. Ten percent of the funds from the California Electronic Cigarette Excise Tax will be allocated to HCAI to fund the new program (HSC Section 130075). The SRHRP supports qualified small, rural and Critical Access hospitals by providing state grant funding and technical assistance to help meet seismic safety standards and preserve access to general acute care for the communities they serve. The program is being developed to assist qualified facilities with technical assistance for development of seismic improvement program planning, project planning and development, and financial grants to apply towards implementing each facility’s unique compliance program. The first step in qualifying for the program will be the application process, which will be used to determine if facilities meet the qualifications as either a small, rural or Critical Access hospital at risk of closure for financial reasons. Program applicants will be required to have current seismic compliance plans and agreed-upon project delivery plans on file with HCAI’s Seismic Compliance Unit prior to acceptance of funding package applications. A process will be employed to optimize use of available funds across all program participants based on need and adherence to approved project schedules.

Eligibility: 1. Applicants must be the owner or authorized representative of an OTM or non-profit NN public water system. 2. The public water system must serve a community with a population less than 10,000. 3. The public water system must have either PFAS or manganese contamination. Project Eligibility: Projects must include actions to address PFAS or manganese contamination. Eligible items include project planning and design, technical assistance, construction or treatment to address contamination (such as consolidation with another water system, new well construction and old well abandonment, and treatment installation). Application Process: 1. Review the eligibility requirements and grant announcement. 2. Develop your project plan, considering technical assistance if needed. 3. The City of Boston’s Air Pollution Control Commission (APCC), operating under the Environment Department, administers the Community Clean Air Grant to support nonprofit-led projects aimed at reducing air pollution and carbon emissions. This initiative, piloted in 2021 and now in its 2025 cycle, funds community-based strategies that align with the city’s goals of carbon neutrality by 2050 and improving public health in Boston’s most affected neighborhoods. Applications for the 2025 cycle opened on March 17, 2025, at 9:00 AM and will close on May 15, 2025, at 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time. The grant supports projects that eliminate local sources of pollution, promote the transition to clean energy, enhance indoor air quality, and raise awareness about the impacts of pollution and climate change. The program prioritizes projects that benefit communities located near highways or transportation infrastructure and populations considered socially vulnerable, such as people of color, older adults, children, and individuals with chronic illnesses. Eligibility is limited to nonprofit organizations operating within Boston. Although a nonprofit may submit multiple proposals, the APCC will fund only one project per organization per fiscal year. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend one of two scheduled information sessions on March 25 at 5:30 PM and April 4 at 10:00 AM. Weekly office hours are also held on Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Translation services for the information sessions are available upon request with at least one week’s notice via email. Five Illinois counties, Alexander, Hardin, Pulaski, Gallatin and Saline; face a fundamental lack of mental health services for justice-involved youth; often having to take juveniles out of the home county for services. If the juveniles are in need of anything greater than outpatient treatment, these youth are sent outside of their home county and sent up to central Illinois, many miles away. Lack of social services coupled with the lack of public transportation, can make it very difficult for juveniles to access resources to avoid entering the Juvenile Justice system in the first place or to succeed while in the system.

The Angler Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation (Angler R3) grant program provides financial assistance to partners who conduct Angler R3 programs and activities in Wisconsin. Funding is provided through the Dingell Johnson Sportfish Restoration Act, a federal aid program. The goals of the Angler R3 grant program are to grow the numbers of anglers in Wisconsin and expand angling participation among adults, particularly from non-traditional audiences.
