The Golden LEAF Foundation's Open Grants Program is designed to strengthen North Carolina's economy, particularly in tobacco-dependent, economically distressed, and/or rural communities. This program aligns directly with the foundation's mission to use its entrusted funds for projects with the highest potential for economic impact. The grants, ranging from $100,000 to $500,000, are available to governmental entities and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations across all North Carolina counties. The program targets communities and organizations capable of driving economic development in three priority areas: Job Creation and Economic Investment, Workforce Preparedness, and Agriculture. The impact goals are to foster economic growth and create opportunities in these specific sectors, ultimately benefiting the residents and businesses within the designated communities. The foundation's strategic priority is to invest in projects that demonstrate a clear potential for strengthening the state's economy. Competitive projects are those that seek funds to develop new workforce training programs, implement career pathways in high schools for high-demand fields, extend infrastructure to enable industrial development and job creation, or support new crops, expand agricultural markets, and provide farmer training. These focuses reflect the foundation's theory of change, which posits that targeted investments in these areas will lead to measurable economic improvements. While most awards are expected to be $200,000 or less, projects eligible for grants over $200,000 must demonstrate additional outcomes commensurate with the increased funding, result from multi-organizational planning with continued community engagement, build on a history of success to scale projects, be collaborative with innovative or regional features, leverage significant funding from other organizations, or be from applicants with limited resources where phased implementation would compromise outcomes. The expected outcomes are the creation of full-time jobs, enhanced workforce skills, improved agricultural practices, and overall economic revitalization in North Carolina.

This grant provides funding to support value-added agricultural processing, regional food systems development, and increased access to healthy food in Michigan, particularly for minority-owned, veteran, and underserved farming operations.

This program provides financial support to established dairy farms in Missouri for projects that improve production capacity and operational efficiency.

This program provides funding to individuals, businesses, and organizations in Missouri for projects that increase local food production and availability, particularly in areas facing food insecurity.

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) announce the availability of funds under the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program IV (SHCFTP IV), as established pursuant to Section 2825-g (7) of the Public Health Law (PHL), accompanying capital appropriations, and Section 1680-r of the Public Authorities Law (PAL), to provide grants in support of capital projects directly related to residential and community-based alternatives to the traditional model of nursing home care. Subdivision 7 of Section 2825-g of the PHL and Chapter 54 of the Laws of 2022 authorized up to $50,000,000 for awards to residential and community- based alternatives to the traditional model of nursing home care. Projects shall not receive awards under both this RFA and the Kings County Health Care Transformation Program (PHL §2825-a) or the Oneida County Health Care Transformation Program (PHL §2825-b).PLEASE NOTE: Letter of Interest is not required. The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) is making up to $3M in Title I Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Statewide Activities funding available under the Apprenticeship Expansion Grant (AEG-4) Request for Applications (RFA). The purpose of this RFA is to expand New York State (NYS) Registered Apprenticeship (RA) training by increasing employment opportunities for approximately 130 apprentices, with a focus on underrepresented populations. These apprentices will enter trades in high-demand occupations, with a focus on the emerging fields of Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Information Technology, as well as other in-demand occupations. Please note that this solicitation focuses on promoting the expansion of NYS RAs and as such, RAs in the field of Construction are not eligible for funding under this RFA unless the trade is to be used for the upkeep and maintenance of a facility owned by the business entity employing the apprentice, such as plant maintenance trades.

This grant provides funding to artists, cultural organizations, and community groups in Kentucky to create artistic projects that celebrate and reflect on the state's diverse history and narratives as part of the national 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH) is offering a grant program to support the development and public presentation of visual art exhibitions. This initiative aligns with CAH's mission to foster artistic and cultural development within the District of Columbia by providing opportunities for local artists and curators. The grant aims to enhance the cultural landscape of D.C. through innovative and educational art exhibitions, utilizing CAH's exhibition space and virtual platforms. The primary target beneficiaries of this grant are District resident curators and nonprofit organizations with curatorial capacity. The program seeks to empower these individuals and groups to develop and present compelling visual art exhibitions. The impact goals include providing opportunities for D.C. resident curators to showcase new works or bring existing exhibitions from other cities to the District, thereby enriching the cultural experiences available to local residents. The program prioritizes fostering innovative and educational art exhibitions. Key focus areas include supporting the presentation of visual art in a government facility and offering unique exhibitions and related programs for District residents. Expected outcomes include an increase in the number and diversity of art exhibitions available in D.C., greater visibility for local curators and artists, and enhanced engagement of District residents with the arts. Funding for individuals and new nonprofit organizations in FY25 can be up to $30,000, or $35,000 if working with a co-curator or curatorial mentee, with a grant period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025. Eligibility criteria for individuals include being an artist, curator, or arts-related professional over 18 with prior curatorial experience, maintaining D.C. residency, and being in good standing with CAH. Nonprofit organizations must be 501(c)(3) certified, have a principal business office in D.C., be registered to do business in the District, ensure at least 51% of activities occur in D.C., and obtain Citywide Clean Hands certification. Colleges, universities, service organizations, foreign governments, and other DC/Federal Government agencies are ineligible.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to community organizations, individuals, and groups focused on developing innovative clean energy projects or enhancing their capacity to serve priority populations in Massachusetts.

The 2024 Dairy Digester Research and Development Program (DDRDP) and Alternative Manure Management Program (AMMP) offer grants, funded by the California State Budget, to support projects that reduce methane emissions from dairy and livestock operations in California, with a focus on funding new projects and those that have successfully implemented AMMP projects in the past.

The purpose of this solicitation is to fund applied research to increase California’s hydropower generation through precipitation enhancement (cloud seeding). Research funded by this solicitation will foster cost-effective, robust approaches to manage anticipated needs for zero-carbon, fast-ramping resources in the context of a rapidly evolving energy system and climate change.; The proposed research contributes to implementation of the Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) 2021-2025 Investment Plan and responds to the strategic objective: “Inform California's Transition to an Equitable, Zero-Carbon Energy System that is Climate-Resilient and Meets Environmental Goals” (Chapter 7). Specifically, this solicitation supports the topic 44 within the Climate Resilience Initiative: “Integrating Climate Resilience in Electricity System Planning.” Hydroelectric power is an important source of zero-carbon, dispatchable power in California. It is a critical element of the state’s electricity system and in-state generation, providing peaking reserve, spinning reserve, and load following capacity, as well as transmission line support (Somani, et al., 2021). The percentage of the state’s electricity supplied by hydropower varies, as hydropower resources are strongly dependent on magnitude and timing of snowmelt runoff and rainfall. Between 2012 and 2021, hydropower (including in-state generation and imports) provided an average of 9 percent of California’s total energy mix (California Energy Commission 2022). As the state continues to contend with drought and other climate-driven impacts on water and hydropower resource availability, as well as develop more sustainable water management practices (California Water Action Plan, 2014), the proposed research will support opportunities for increasing and sustaining hydropower generation. Specifically, the research will contribute to more effective precipitation enhancement (cloud seeding) strategies.

The CASF Broadband Public Housing Account provides grants and loans to build broadband networks offering free broadband service for residents of low-income communities including, but not limited to, publicly supported housing developments, farmworker housing, and other housing developments or mobile home parks with low-income residents that do not have access to any broadband service provider that offers free broadband service that meets or exceeds state standards for the residents of the low-income community. The allocated funding for the Broadband Public Housing Account is $15 million for fiscal year 2022-2023.  The Broadband Public Housing Account will finance up to 100 percent of the costs to install inside wiring and broadband network equipment.

The UST Cleanup Fund provides a means for petroleum UST owners and operators to meet the federal and state requirements of maintaining financial responsibility to pay for damages arising from unauthorized releases from their petroleum USTs. The Fund assists a large number of small businesses and individuals by providing reimbursement for expenses associated with the cleanup of leaking USTs.

This grant provides funding to Vermont early childhood education providers and nonprofits to purchase shares from local farms, enhancing access to fresh, locally grown foods for young children.

This grant provides funding for projects that improve nutrient and irrigation management practices in California agriculture, with a focus on supporting socially disadvantaged farmers and farmworkers.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to local organizations in California for collaborative efforts to control and manage invasive weed species in specific areas.

CDFW may make grants to, reimburse, or enter into contracts or other agreements, as defined in subdivision (a) of Section 1571, with public and private entities, including universities, nonprofit organizations, and California Native American tribes, as defined in Section 21073 of the Public Resources Code, for the use of the funds from the Upland Game Bird Account to carry out the purposes of Fish and Game Code §3684, including related habitat conservation projects. Any proposal fitting the criteria in this statue is qualified to be funded.
