Block Grant: Programs that provide services include those efforts that (1) respond to the emotional, psychological, or physical needs of crime victims, (2) help victims of crime to stabilize their lives after a victimization, (3) help victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system, and (4) restore a measure of security and safety for the victim.The purpose of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) is to provide high quality services that directly improve the health and well-being of victims of crime with priority given to victims of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault and services for previously underserved victims. The Office for Crime Victims (OVC) makes annual VOCA crime victim assistance grants from the Fund to states. The primary purpose of these grants is to support the provision of services to victims of crime throughout the nation. For the purpose of these Programs Guidelines, services are defined as those efforts that:

Equitable Energy Future Grant Program (Notice of Funding Opportunity 3054-2638): The Equitable Energy Future Grant Program, administered by the Commerce And Econ Opp agency, aims to provide seed funding and pre-development funding opportunities to eligible contractors for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in historically disadvantaged communities. The program is designed to remove barriers caused by lack of capital and promote project, community, and business development. The anticipated number of awards is 40, with an estimated total program funding of $25,500,000. The award range is between $250,000 and $1,000,000. The source of funding is the state government of Illinois. There are no cost-sharing or matching requirements, but indirect costs are not allowed. The application period is from November 16, 2023, to June 30, 2024 at 5:00 PM. Technical assistance sessions are offered on November 30, 2023 at 12:00 PM and registration can be done through a provided link. Applicants must be pre-qualified entities registered in the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) Grantee Portal. Grantees will be asked to focus on prevention and early intervention efforts with the end goal of increasing access to mental health services for veterans and their families.  Proposals funded under CVHI must be inclusive, equitable, and available to all veterans regardless of age, period of service, type of service, discharge status, or disability rating. Applicants must be able to meet the eligibility requirements of California Military and Veterans Code Section 881 to be considered for funding, and proposals must aim to expand the state’s capacity to provide mental health support to veterans and to fill gaps in mental health services. Applicants are required to select the program areas they are proposing and provide a description of the proposed activities and how the proposed activities would increase mental health access for California veterans. This NOFA allows for flexibility in program design to fit the specific needs of veterans and their families across the state, Outreach, Peer Support, Case Management, Outpatient Clinical Treatment, and Innovative Approaches will be eligible for funding and are further defined in the NOFA. The Grantee staff and leadership will be expected to maintain significant engagement with CalVet for monthly check-ins, operations assistance, reporting, and evaluation. Applicants are encouraged to ensure they are budgeting for appropriate levels of staff, time for data collection and reporting, time spent in CVHI meetings and trainings, and appropriate facility requirements (office space, group space, hardware and software equipment, supplies, overhead). Through an Application process responsive to the NOFA, awarded Grantees will provide clear and convincing evidence of adequate personnel, facility, and organizational capacity to effectively carry out their proposed project. The successful Applicant will describe how they meet minimum qualifications, including their breadth of experience working with Veterans, with special emphasis on treating veterans with mental health concerns.

The Aquatic Stewardship Grant Program, formerly known as the Aquatic Education Grant Program, is organized by the ODNR Division of Wildlife. It aims to foster aquatic stewardship through hands-on educational experiences facilitated by partnering organizations. Eligible projects must offer an aquatic education learning experience and include educational components beyond mere fishing skills, aimed at promoting aquatic stewardship. A final report must be submitted to the ODNR Division of Wildlife upon project completion. In an effort to support the maintenance of cognitive and mobility skills, the Illinois Department of Public Health, Office of Healthcare Regulation (OHCR) announces an opportunity for certified facilities to submit applications to implementation changes to increase the quality of life within their facility. This grant seeks to provide facility staff training in the areas of; (1) showering and personal care, (2) nutrition, choking, and dietary issues, (3) social interaction / social isolation, and (4) showering and personal care. By addressing each topic individually for two hours bi-annually, the overall quality of life within Long Term Care facilities will increase.

County Agriculture and Farmland Protection Planning Grants in New York aim to support local efforts to sustain the economic viability of the state's agricultural industry and its land base, while also preserving the environment and landscape associated with agriculture. Eligible counties can receive grants of up to $50,000 or 50% of the planning costs (whichever is less) to develop a county agriculture and farmland protection plan. The county must contribute at least 20% in cash (with no more than 80% in in-kind services), and two counties can collaborate on an application. Counties with an established agricultural and farmland protection board that have not had an approved plan in the last ten years are eligible for funding.

The Countywide Gender-Based Violence and Trafficking Prevention RFP, funded by the King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) through VSHSL funds, aims to support Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence, and Human Trafficking programs. This initiative aligns with the foundation's mission to foster in-depth, multi-level, coordinated prevention and community engagement strategies. The program specifically targets geographically and culturally diverse communities across King County, Washington, striving to build community bridges through responsive care networks and strengthen prevention efforts. This strategy focuses on preventing all forms of gender-based violence and human trafficking, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and commercial sexual exploitation. It builds upon insights gained from a prior VSHSL pilot program (2018-2023), emphasizing a unified approach to developing and implementing prevention and community engagement strategies tailored to the unique needs of King County's diverse populations. Priorities include prevention awareness and education, alongside survivor-centered advocacy for social change. The expected outcomes of this grant program include a reduction in gender-based violence and human trafficking through enhanced community-based prevention programs. Measurable results will likely involve the number of community-based entities funded, the reach of prevention awareness and education initiatives, and the development of stronger, more responsive care networks. The program's strategic priorities are centered on supporting community-based organizations that can effectively implement these multi-level strategies. DCHS's theory of change appears to be that by investing in community-based entities and strengthening prevention programs, they can create lasting social change and reduce the incidence of gender-based violence and human trafficking. The program encourages proposals from for-profit and nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, tribes and tribal organizations, and public or governmental agencies serving King County, with a particular emphasis on small nonprofit, community-based Black, Indigenous, and other Communities of Color-led organizations, reinforcing an equitable approach to community impact. The grant period is from October 1, 2024, to December 31, 2027, with up to $5,457,508 in VSHSL funds to be awarded.
