State Community Development Grants

The Texans Feeding Texans Home-Delivered Meal Grant Program aims to supplement and extend current home-delivered meal programs for seniors and/or disabled Texans. Eligible entities include governmental and non-profit agencies. The program involves counties making qualifying grants to meal providers based on a rate of $0.25 per county senior as reported in the 2020 census. Meal providers must receive a grant from the county, deliver meals to homebound elderly or disabled individuals, and complete a required application. The Texas Department of Agriculture facilitates the funding process.

Funding for the creation and/or implementation of firearms restraining order programs, state crisis intervention court proceedings, and related gun violence reduction programs/initiatives. The purpose of this NOFO is to award one or more state agencies grant funding to develop and implement effective and equitably targeted FRO public information, outreach, and training strategies. This NOFO will focus on implementing strategies for: FRO partner agencies, including court, law enforcement and behavioral health providers Potential FRO petitioners, particularly those with barriers to filing FROs and lacking supportive services Potential FRO individuals and organizations who may have contact with persons at risk of harming themselves and others The general public Applicants may propose a pass-through model in which they subaward grants to trusted messengers to both help craft targeted, meaningful, effective content and facilitate its delivery. These funds are intended to address one of the key priorities identified by the SCIP Advisory Committee: stakeholder awareness and training is essential to ensure the safe, equitable, and effective implementation and execution of FROs. Furthermore, this funding is intended to help address inequities in support and use of FROs and the importance of proper messaging in driving FROs uptake and proper usage.

The SFY 2025 Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Grant, funded by the State of Maryland through the Governor's Office of Crime Prevention and Policy, aims to support the investigation and prosecution of internet crimes against children. The grant also assists in the operations of the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. These efforts are part of the Office's broader objective to reduce victimization of Maryland's children by protecting them from abuse or neglect, addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and mitigating the impact of childhood trauma. Additionally, the grant promotes coordinated criminal justice strategies at the State and local levels, enhancing collaboration among local law enforcement agencies and Child Advocacy Centers with the Maryland ICAC Task Force.

This grant opportunity, offered by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Bureau of Parks and Lands, is aimed at the acquisition, development, and maintenance of new trailered boat launches. The program supports state and local governments, among other eligible entities, to enhance public access to waterways for recreational boating. Eligible projects must serve as the primary recreational boating access for the general public. A pre-approval site inspection is required for project eligibility. The funding cap for new trailered launch projects is $100,000.

The Volunteer Firefighter Pension Fund Program supports local governments in offering retirement benefits to attract volunteer firefighters. Eligible entities include municipalities with populations under 100,000, fire protection districts, county improvement districts with volunteer fire department members, and counties contributing to a volunteer pension fund. These entities must have active, pension-eligible volunteer firefighters and have contributed tax revenue to the pension fund in the previous year. The program provides a state match for contributions from eligible entities, which is determined based on a statutory calculation. Applications are accepted annually from September 1 to October 31. The program also includes Accidental Death and Disability Insurance for all volunteer firefighters in Colorado, covering on-duty activities and travel to and from events. Grant renewed every year. Grant annual opening/ closing deadlines: September 1st to last business day of October

The Michigan Office of the Environmental Justice Public Advocate in the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) offers the Environmental Justice Impact Grant program to reduce environmental health burdens and impacts in Michigan’s environmental justice communities. The goal of the program is to positively impact residents in environmental justice communities by funding place-based and equity-focused projects. Award Amounts and Award Timeframes • $20,000,000 total funds available. • $500,000 maximum per applicant. • Grants will be awarded by August 30, 2024. Work must be completed by September 1, 2027

This grant provides funding to tribes and community organizations to enhance their advocacy, education, and outreach efforts related to California Public Utilities Commission processes and decisions.

This grant path supports projects focused on community violence intervention or interruption, particularly in high-risk communities. The initiatives should aim at directly engaging with individuals most likely to be involved in or affected by firearm-related harm. Projects should employ strategies like Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Programs (HVIPs) and Community-Based Intervention Programs (CVIPs) that capitalize on the "teachable moment" immediately after a youth has been involved in violence. Additionally, strategies should include violence interruption programs that provide immediate responses to shootings to prevent further violence and retaliation through community engagement events. Applicants must attend a pre-application webinar.

CAL FIRE's Wood Products and Bioenergy team seeks to maintain and enhance the wood products infrastructure of California to promote healthy resilient forests throughout the state by supporting a diverse set of business development and workforce development projects.  ; Eligible business development projects include facilities, operations, and professional services that support the restoration of healthy, resilient forests.   Eligible workforce development projects include universities, colleges, government and community organizations, and businesses that aim to increase workforce capacity in the fields of logging, fuels treatment, transportation, manufacturing, or other support services that bolster the development of a resilient forest sector workforce.   Research and development projects related to both business and workforce development will also be considered. The Virginia Emergency Shelter Upgrade Assistance Fund was established by Senate Bill 350, introduced by Senator Lucas, effective from July 1, 2020. This fund is dedicated to providing matching funds to local governments for installing, maintaining, or repairing emergency shelter infrastructure to enhance resilience against natural disasters. This includes infrastructure for backup energy generation, such as solar energy generators, and wind retrofitting to improve structural integrity. The fund prioritizes projects that protect vulnerable populations, offer long-term risk solutions, and support primary shelter enhancements as verified by Local Capabilities Assessment Reports (LCAR). Eligible applicants are local governments with a current and locally-adopted emergency operations plan compliant with Virginia’s Emergency Services and Disaster Laws. Local governments are restricted to one application per year and must have completed any prior funded projects before applying.

The LOCAL program provides Washington municipalities with a cost-effective way to finance equipment and/or real estate projects. Participants will benefit from the current program rating of Moody’s Aa1, low fees and expenses, technical assistance, and access to the tax-exempt bond market. The LOCAL Program allows participants access to the national tax-exempt market through a competitive bid process, regardless of the size of their financing contract • By pooling with the State’s Aa1 rated COP issuances, LOCAL participants are able to take advantage of the State’s very low tax-exempt interest rates
