The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH) is offering the Fiscal Year 2025 Public Art Building Communities (PABC) Grant Program. Expected outcomes include an increase in the number of high-quality public art installations throughout the District of Columbia, stronger connections between artists and the communities they serve, and enhanced community participation in and appreciation for public art. Measurable results could involve tracking the number of grants awarded, the types and locations of art installations, the number of community members engaged, and the overall contribution to DC's public art collection. CAH's theory of change is that by investing in public art, they can enrich the cultural landscape, foster community engagement, and provide platforms for artistic expression and learning within the District.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's (CPDHE) Office of Gun Violence Prevention (OGVP) has established a grant program to support community-based initiatives aimed at interrupting cycles of gun violence, trauma, and retaliation. This program aligns with the OGVP's mission to address disparities in communities at the highest risk by focusing on firearm suicide prevention and community violence intervention. The program targets communities and individuals most impacted by firearm homicides and suicides, including Black, Latino, Indigenous, and other People of Color communities; LGBTQIA+ communities; youth and young adults; veterans; middle-aged men; and isolated rural communities. The overarching impact goal is to reduce firearm-related harm and death, fostering safer and more resilient communities. The grant funding is structured around two primary paths. Path 1 focuses on the prevention of unintentional and intentional firearm-related harm through strategies like promoting safe storage, lethal means counseling, and educating the public on Extreme Risk Protection Orders. Path 2 is dedicated to Community Violence Intervention or Interruption, utilizing strategies such as Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Programs (HVIPs), Community-Based Intervention Programs (CVIPs) with "credible messenger" models, and Violence Interruption Programs that provide immediate responses to shootings and promote non-violence. Expected outcomes include a reduction in unauthorized firearm access, increased education on temporary out-of-home gun storage, decreased firearm suicides, and a decrease in community violence through intervention and interruption strategies. Measurable results will likely involve tracking participation in safe storage programs, knowledge of ERPOs, engagement in violence intervention programs, and ultimately, a reduction in firearm-related incidents and deaths in targeted communities. The OGVP's strategic priority is to address disparities in high-risk communities, and its theory of change posits that by investing in community-led initiatives focused on prevention and intervention, it can effectively break cycles of violence and trauma. Total available funding is approximately $500,000 each fiscal year, with up to 10 grant awards ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 per awardee. The initial funding period runs from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2026, with a potential for renewal through 2027. Eligible applicants include Colorado-based community and grassroots nonprofit organizations, nonprofit educational institutions, nonprofit healthcare organizations, and nonprofit organizations serving reservations or Tribal land. The program particularly encourages applications from organizations advocating for or serving the identified priority communities.

The Diversity in Teaching (DIT) program grant competitively funds two-year proposals from regionally accredited colleges and universities domiciled in Tennessee, for the development of programs with a commitment to diversity as an instructional tool, and that increase the number of K-12 teachers in Tennessee from underrepresented groups.***Please check back soon for FY24-26 funding information and updates.***

The School Construction Assistance Program (SCAP) provides funding assistance to school districts that are undertaking a major new construction or modernization project. Projects must meet eligibility requirements. School districts are responsible to secure local funding for construction projects. If eligible, the State provides partial funding based on formulas, allowances, and costs related to certain aspects of a construction project called recognized project cost. The enrollment projection methodology excludes the number of students residing outside the school district who are enrolled in alternative learning experience (ALE) programs under RCW 28A.232.010. The California Department of Education (CDE), Early Education Division (EED) announces the availability of approximately $32.7 million to expand California State Preschool Program (CSPP) services statewide, as appropriated in the 2021 Budget Act. The CSPP funds are available for local educational agency (LEA) applicants to provide full-day/full year, part-day/part-year, or any combination thereof, of CSPP services.; The California Department of Education (CDE), Early Education Division (EED) announces the availability of approximately $32.7 million to expand California State Preschool Program (CSPP) services statewide to eligible children and families, as appropriated in the 2021 Budget Act. The CSPP funds are available for local educational agency (LEA) applicants to provide full-day/full year, part-day/part-year, or any combination thereof, of CSPP services. Funding will be allocated by county, and within each county by the Local Planning Council (LPC) priority area. Funding awards will be made based on the LPC priority in the order of highest passing score first. In the event that a county does not fully utilize its allocation, the funding will be redistributed to other applicants, based on the LPC priority followed by highest score. In the event of any tie in scoring, the applicant with headquarters in the service delivery area(s) specified in the Request for Application (RFA) will be given preference over applications with the same score that are not headquartered in the specified area(s), per California Code of Regulations, Title 5 (5 CCR) Section 17723. The CDE encourages all eligible applicants to apply. The CSPP funds will be used to provide services for eligible children beginning in fiscal year (FY) 2024–25.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to selected lending partners in Arizona to help expand and improve child care services through microbusiness development and training for small-scale providers.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), Bureau of Special Education is inviting applications from Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) to develop or expand experiential learning opportunities. The goal is to engage secondary and postsecondary students in learning about working with students with disabilities, aiming to inspire future special educators. These opportunities include structured activities, programs, or events guided by current educators. The grant aims to foster the establishment or expansion of such opportunities and increase interest in special education careers among secondary and postsecondary students.

As a result of Governor Lee’s commitment of $12 million to the state’s Charter School Facilities Fund, the Charter School Facilities Grant offers Tennessee charter schools access to funding to improve or build educational facilities. Grant monies are issued in two installments, including a non competitive manner based on total enrollment and a competitive grant based on evidence of high student achievement.

The Rural STEM Network Grant VI, administered by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Science, Innovation, and Technology (OSIT), aims to support innovative initiatives that help develop a diverse workforce in Rural Nevada with the skills and education needed by STEM industries. Projects should address increased participation in high-quality STEM programs from underserved groups, raise awareness about STEM opportunities, and ensure high-quality STEM education with engaged business partners across all counties, cities, and districts. Funding is available up to $50,000, with applications due by June 28, 2024. Eligible projects include pilot programs, scaling up existing programs, or extending successful initiatives from other regions.

The Conference and Education Assistance Grant Program, established under §38.2-401-F of the Code of Virginia, is designed to support the professional development of Virginia's fire services community. This program provides financial assistance for training conferences and seminars sponsored by Virginia-based non-profit organizations. The grants aim to further the education of fire services personnel across the Commonwealth, enhancing their skills and knowledge through participation in relevant educational events.
