It is the formal agreement between local school boards and the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to ensure compliance and implementation of federal and state laws concerning special education. The plan outlines the requirements for local educational agencies (LEAs) to receive state and Eligibility is limited to local educational agencies (LEAs), state-operated programs, and the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind. Five Illinois counties, Alexander, Hardin, Pulaski, Gallatin and Saline; face a fundamental lack of mental health services for justice-involved youth; often having to take juveniles out of the home county for services. If the juveniles are in need of anything greater than outpatient treatment, these youth are sent outside of their home county and sent up to central Illinois, many miles away. Lack of social services coupled with the lack of public transportation, can make it very difficult for juveniles to access resources to avoid entering the Juvenile Justice system in the first place or to succeed while in the system.

This initiative provides funding to organizations that deliver culturally sensitive HIV prevention and care services to at-risk minority populations in Illinois, including men who have sex with men, homeless individuals, and those with histories of mental illness or substance abuse.

Firearm violence has deeply harmed neighborhoods, communities, and the entire State of Illinois, both through the immediate loss of life and the long-term, harmful effects of trauma experienced by victims, witnesses, and community members. As one of its multiple funding efforts to reduce firearm violence in the most heavily impacted communities across Illinois, the IDHS-Office of Firearm Violence Prevention (OFVP) is seeking to fund youth development organizations in specific community areas across Illinois that will provide structured and unstructured programming to community youth. These programs are meant to serve youth who are the highest risk of becoming victims or perpetrators of firearm violence and should utilize evidence-informed programming and services which will improve youth outcomes and decrease risk factors associated with firearm violence.

9th Round of Child Care Workforce Stabilization Grant (CCWS) The Department of Human Resources is pleased to announce the 9th round of the Child Care Workforce Stabilization Grant (CCWS). The Department of Human Services (DHS) Family Services Administration (FSA) in the District of Columbia is offering grants for Fiscal Year 2025 to support youth and families. This initiative seeks to procure service providers to offer supportive services to youth aged 10-24 who are experiencing extensive juvenile and truancy situations. The primary objective is to help youth and families achieve specific goals and tasks, aligning with the DHS/FSA's mission to enhance family well-being and provide critical human services within the District. The program's core goals, as targeted by Youth Services Division (YSD) staff, include reducing truancy and associated behaviors (such as running away and extreme disobedience), preventing involvement in the juvenile justice system, and improving youth functioning and behavior across school, home, and community environments. These goals are directed at all participating youth and their families, including Spanish-speaking families, with each youth having an assigned Case Manager, Social Worker, or Functional Family Therapist (FFT) to ensure comprehensive support. The primary target population for these Youth and Family Support Services are youth aged 10 to 18, as well as transition-age youth up to 24 years old, and their families who are actively engaged in YSD programs and services. The expected outcomes include a reduction in truancy rates, a decrease in juvenile justice system involvement, and observable improvements in youth behavior and overall functioning. Measurable results will likely be tracked through attendance records, reported incidents, and assessments of social and emotional well-being. Eligibility for this RFA extends to local social services organizations, not-for-profit corporations, and charitable organizations, including faith-based groups, that serve the target population. Organizations incorporated as a not-for-profit or religious corporation or a public agency under District law, or those authorized to conduct corporate activities and provide care in the District with federal tax-exempt status, are also eligible. The total estimated program funding is up to $900,000.00, with an award ceiling of $200,000.00 and an award floor of $50,000.00. The period of performance is from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025.

The department is providing up to $25,000 in one-time funding to faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with the purpose of creating respite ministries or programs that provide people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families with a safe place of rest. Under the “Prevent” category, eligible projects may include emergency housing through shelters or hotels, outreach to underserved populations, the purchase of PPE and health supplies, and technology for mobile advocacy. The “Prepare” category focuses on building organizational resilience, including conducting assessments and developing contingency plans to maintain operations during future surges. Meanwhile, the “Respond” category funds direct assistance such as counseling, advocacy, youth support services, civil legal aid, rental and utility assistance, and programs that promote victims’ economic empowerment, such as transportation, childcare, job training, and financial literacy initiatives. Approximately $350,000 in total funding is available for this grant cycle, covering a 12-month period from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025. Eligible applicants include local public agencies and nonprofit private organizations—such as faith-based, community-based, tribal, and charitable organizations—with proven experience assisting victims of domestic or family violence. Applicants must demonstrate a strong record of delivering effective, survivor-centered services and must align their proposed activities with the grant’s prevention, preparation, or response focus areas. Through this FVPSA ARP supplemental grant, ICJI continues its commitment to protecting survivors, strengthening community-based response systems, and addressing the intersection of domestic violence and public health. By empowering organizations with the resources they need to adapt and sustain critical services, this program ensures that victims across Indiana can access safety, stability, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives free from violence.

FWP is offering grants for the 2024-2025 school year to Montana outlying school districts to facilitate visits to the Montana WILD Education Center in Helena, MT. These grants aim to cover transportation and/or lodging costs to enable schools in remote areas to access the center's educational programs. Grants are available for students in grades 4th to 12th, with priority given to schools located 50 miles or more (one-way) from Helena, and additional support for lodging expenses offered to those over 150 miles away. The maximum reimbursement is capped at $2,500 per school, with lodging rates set at $30 per student. Applications are due by May 31, 2024, with notifications to follow a week after the deadline. Should funds remain post-initial distribution, they will be allocated on a first-come basis. Schools are required to engage in pre-visit educational activities and encouraged to undertake a community-based project post-visit.

The FY 2025 Early Childhood Block Grant (ECBG) RFP, managed by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), targets new and current grantees looking to increase service capacity. The grant focuses on preschool education and prevention initiatives, supporting entities outside of Chicago in providing educational, health, social, and child development services to young children and their families. Applications must meet GATA prequalification requirements and are due by 4:00 p.m. on May 16, 2024. Grant renewed every year.

The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) is making up to $2 million in State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula (SAEF) funding available under the Direct Entry Pre-Apprenticeship Programs (DEPA) Request for Applications (RFA). The purpose of the RFA is to: 1. Provide funding for DEPA programs to support approximately 300 participants; and2. Support entry into NYS Registered Apprenticeship (RA) programs for underrepresented populations including women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.NYSDOL is particularly interested in supporting DEPA programs that provide participants with training and exposure to various trades and offer opportunities for entry into RA training programs. Targeted industries include, but are not limited to, Building and Construction, Manufacturing, and Information Technology (IT).Although grantmaking activities will transition from the Grants Gateway to the Statewide Financial System (SFS) on January 16, 2024, applications for this funding opportunity will continue to be accepted through Grants Gateway until the submission deadline date of March 29, 2024.Note: With the transition of grantmaking activities from the Grants Gateway to SFS, prequalification will be unavailable from December 15, 2023 through January 16, 2024.
