New Mexico Grants

The Devasthali Family Foundation Fund, established by Drs. The Wellness Fund Grant aims to support non-profit organizations in southern New Mexico focused on improving maternal/child health and wellness outcomes. Eligible organizations located in Doña Ana, Hidalgo, Grant, Lincoln, Luna, Otero, and Sierra counties can apply for funding. The grant supports projects in education, direct services, prevention/wellness, programmatic support, and addressing social determinants of health. Grants typically range from $3,000 to $10,000 annually, with multi-year grants for 2024 ranging from $20,000 to $30,000.

FY24 Bureau of Land Management New Mexico (NM) Cooperative Inspection Agreements with States and Tribes. Employment of Native Americans which will stimulate the Nations economy.Satisfying the BLM requirement for Oil & Gas Inspection and Enforcement requirements per FOGRMA.Training of Native American Inspectors per the National Certification Program for Oil & Gas I & E Personn. The BLM manages approximately 40,000 Federal onshore leases and well inventory of more than 94,000 across 32 States. These leases have generated in excess of $2 billion annually in bonus bids, royalties and rents in recent years of which nearly half is distributed to States in accordance with revenue sharing provisions of the Mineral Leasing Act and FOGRMA. In addition, the BLM manages operations on roughly 4,500 oil and gas leases on behalf of Native Tribes and individual Native mineral owners. The BLM seeks to ensure that the public’s oil and gas resources are developed in an environmentally responsible manner that maximizes recovery, while minimizing waste and providing a fair return for the taxpayer through accurate revenue collection. . This is accomplished through expediting leasing, streamlining well permitting, reservoir management, and the administration of operations, which includes prioritizing inspections based on risk and providing oversight of ongoing operations, as well as monitoring reclamation and abandonment activities. Another important component is the BLM’s Fiduciary Trust Responsibility to Indian Tribes, which is an obligation on the part of the United States to protect tribal treaty rights, lands, assets, and resources, as well as a duty to carry out the mandates of Federal law with respect to American Indian and Alaska Native tribes and villages.

This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations in Colorado, New Mexico, and Southwest Florida that support the well-being of children, adults, the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and animals through various humanitarian efforts.

Community Resiliency Fund – New Mexico is offering wildfire support grants for nonprofits in Mora, San Miguel, Santa Fe, and Rio Arriba counties. The grant size will be no less than $2,500 and will depend on available funds. Eligible organizations must hold 501(c)(3) nonprofit status from the IRS, have a fiscal sponsor, or be a federally recognized tribe. This grant provides funding for organizations in Lea County, New Mexico, to support projects that improve community quality of life, focusing on social services, education, economic development, and community safety.

The Outdoor Equity Fund is currently open for the 2023 grant cycle, with a total of $1.7 million awarded to 54 programs in 16 counties. This funding will provide outdoor experiences for approximately 20,000 kids. The grant cycle is open on a rolling basis until funds are expended, and additional funding is available for this cycle. The fund aims to support transformative outdoor experiences that foster stewardship and respect for lands, waters, and cultural heritage. Potential applicants are encouraged to complete their applications early as multiple rounds of reviews are anticipated. In previous years, the Outdoor Equity Fund has awarded over $800,000 to 48 organizations in order to get 12,391 kids outside through 2023. In 2021, the fund supported 57 recipients who will collectively engage more than 22,000 young New Mexicans in outdoor activities through 2022. In its inaugural year in 2020, the fund awarded over $270,000 to 25 applicants across the state. The Outdoor Equity Fund seeks to address the disparity in access to outdoor experiences for underrepresented youth and aims to provide opportunities for these individuals to explore and appreciate the natural beauty of New Mexico.
