The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) is seeking applications from organizations that provide culturally responsive services to crime victims and survivors from communities that have been historically underserved, marginalized, adversely affected by inequality, and disproportionately impacted by crime, violence, and victimization. These victims often face barriers that prevent them from accessing critical services. Such barriers can isolate these victims and contribute to distrust of the government and government systems. Unaddressed needs can lead to long-term physical, emotional, social, and financial problems for survivors. Survivors from underserved communities are more inclined to seek services from organizations rooted in their communities that understand and are skilled at addressing the challenges specific to their communities. Through this funding opportunity, OVC will support services for victims by organizations that understand the complex, multilayered, culturally specific challenges that crime victims from these communities face when attempting to access assistance and services.

This grant provides funding for collaborative projects among archivists and institutions to improve the processing, preservation, and access to Congressional Records collections across the United States.

The purpose of the Cooperative Agreement is to restore a total of 450 linear feet in two separate reaches with measures to provide structural repair and erosion prevention strategies along the indicated stream at Naval Support Facility Indian Head (NSFIH), located in northwestern Charles County, Maryland. The Defense Sciences Office (DSO) at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is soliciting innovative proposals that significantly advance the performance, capabilities and the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of atomic vapor sensors for electric field sensing, imaging, communications, and quantum information science (QIS). Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.

Research shows that HIV care must increasingly address the management of individuals with multiple coexisting diseases (p.357) such as infectious and chronic diseases, mental health and behavioral disorders, food insecurity, substance use, etc. Since individual diseases do not exist in a vacuum, neither does the management, or burden of disease on community well-being. In response, syndemic theory and approaches are used to (1) increase the focus on co-occurring and interacting disease and social conditions that exacerbate health inequities, and (2) advance the evidence base for effective approaches to assess, monitor, and intervene with respect to these co-occurring and interacting factors for optimal outcomes in HIV treatment and care. The purpose of this project is to design, implement, and evaluate innovative comprehensive interventions part of an integrated treatment plan , using a syndemic approach to address co-occurring and interacting conditions of HIV, substance use disorder, intimate partner violence (IPV), and other social determinants of health that impact health outcomes of racial and ethnic minorities with HIV.
