The Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF) is inviting applications from organizations committed to building inclusive and welcoming entrepreneurial environments that expand equitable opportunities for all. This grant aims to empower communities in southern Minnesota to support diverse and traditionally underserved populations in pursuing entrepreneurship. By strengthening local ecosystems that remove barriers to participation, SMIF seeks to drive lasting economic vitality and ensure that prosperity is shared across racial and cultural lines. The foundation is particularly focused on initiatives that cultivate equitable access to entrepreneurial resources and that foster collaboration among community members to create long-term change. Eligible applicants include IRS-designated 501(c)(3) organizations, government entities, and public institutions that provide direct services or resources to help entrepreneurs start and grow businesses. Grassroots and informal organizations may also apply, provided they have an eligible fiscal sponsor. Proposed initiatives might include entrepreneurial education programs designed for BIPOC or underserved populations, community dialogues promoting inclusivity in business, or systems that expand access to funding, mentorship, and professional development. Successful proposals will articulate how their projects create tangible economic opportunities and address the systemic inequities faced by entrepreneurs of color in the region. The foundation will award grants of up to $10,000 per project, with a grant duration of up to 18 months for implementation. Each recipient is required to provide a 10% cash match and to submit both interim and final reports detailing progress and outcomes. Projects must demonstrate clear alignment with SMIF’s mission, show measurable community impact within its 20-county region, and present a plan for sustaining efforts beyond the grant period. Proposals that show strong collaboration and innovation in addressing racial and economic disparities will be viewed favorably. Certain activities and applicants are not eligible for funding. Exclusions include individuals, for-profit businesses, and general operating expenses unrelated to the project. The grant will not support capital purchases, real estate investments, feasibility studies without implementation, or re-granting activities. Likewise, projects already underway or completed before application are not eligible, nor are those focused on research or school-based internships. Organizations with an open Inclusive & Equitable Communities Grant from SMIF are also ineligible until the previous project concludes. Through this program, SMIF continues its mission to advance equitable economic growth across southern Minnesota. By investing in community-led efforts to uplift diverse entrepreneurs and dismantle barriers to opportunity, the foundation is helping to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous regional economy.

Governor Katie Hobb’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF) issues this Request for  Grant Application (RFGA) Solicitation concerning the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency  Prevention (JJDP) Title II Formula Grant Program per A.R.S. §41-2701. Applications for this program will only be accepted through the state’s web-based grants management system, eCivis. It is anticipated that the results of this RFGA will be announced on September 19, 2024. The deadline for submission of an application in eCivis will be on or before 5:00 PM (Arizona time) on July 25, 2024. Financial Notes: This is a 12-month contract that may be renewable for up to two (2) additional 12-month periods, contingent upon federal appropriations, compliance with terms and conditions, programmatic and financial performance, and submission of a renewal application. It is anticipated (but not guaranteed) that the total funds available will be approximately $600,000 per year. The number of awards will depend on the number and quality of applications received. Qualifying applicants are anticipated to be awarded between $40,000 and $100,000 for the first term. Contracts are anticipated to be effective on October 1, 2024, and end September 30, 2025. Funding will be allocated on a reimbursement basis. No pre-award costs will be considered. The United States Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency  Prevention (OJJDP), provides funding for the Title II Formula Grant. The Catalog of  Federal Domestic Assistance (C.F.D.A.) number for the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Title II Formula Grant is 16.540.

The PMGP was started in 1970 to support research in the field of fundamental measurement or the determination of fundamental constants, enabling the faculties at universities and colleges and laboratory researchers to conduct significant research in this area. By funding the research projects of eligible applicants through this program, NIST supports advances in fundamental measurement, the determination of fundamental constants, and fosters extramural collaboration with NIST scientists.

To fund Healthy Homes and Weatherization Cooperation Demonstration grants in up to 5 communities that provide housing interventions in lower-income households that are served by both HUDs Healthy Homes Production (HHP) program and DOEs Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) to determine whether coordination between the programs concerning the implementation of healthy homes remediation activities and energy conservation measures achieves cost-effectiveness and better outcomes in improving the safety and quality of homes. The following are the major goals and objectives of this NOFO: (1) Demonstrate effective strategies for coordination between HUDs HHP and DOEs WAP programs that maximize program efficiencies and benefits to occupants.(2) Reduce WAP deferrals through coordination with HHP programs.(3) Demonstrate sustainable models of inter-program cooperation, including data sharing, reporting, and targeting/recruiting clients.(4) Demonstrate effective models for the sustainable financing of coordinated healthy homes/weatherization interventions.(5) Support the collection of data to evaluate the housing interventions conducted through inter-program coordination (e.g., program cost efficiencies that can be achieved, improvements in indoor environmental quality, improved health outcomes, and additional safety benefits to households).

Program Description:The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), authorized under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (Insert legislative citation for the FNA), as amended, is the cornerstone of the Nations nutrition assistance safety net. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) certifies low-income Americans to participate in the program and authorizes and monitors retailers to accept SNAP benefits for eligible food products. Currently, around 40 million low-income Americans receive SNAP benefits, and more than 250,000 retailers are authorized to accept SNAP benefits.Legislative Authority:Section 4208 of the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, P.L. 115-334, (Farm Bill) authorizes USDA, on a competitive basis, to enter cooperative agreements with governmental entities or nonprofit organizations to carry out Healthy Fluid Milk Incentives (HFMI) projects. The Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024, [P. L. 118-42 provides $2,583,428 for HFMI for fiscal year (FY) 2024.FNS announces, through this Request for Applications (RFA), the availability of $2,583,428 in total grant funding to award one cooperative agreement. Eligible entities who can submit applications include government agencies (State, local, territory, or tribal agencies) and non-profit organizations.Key Requirement for FY 2024 Applicants: FNS is limiting proposals to project designs that will either1.) Deliver HFMI incentives as an automatic discount at the point of purchase or2) Through integration with State Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) systems to automatically deposit earned HFMI incentives onto SNAP households EBT cards (See Project Design on page 12 and in the scoring criteria on page 35 of the RFA).Purpose and Key Objectives:The primary purpose of the HFMI project is to develop and test methods to increase the purchase and consumption of qualifying fluid milk by SNAP households by providing them an incentive at the point of purchase at authorized retailer locations. Qualifying fluid milk includes all varieties of pasteurized cows milk that (1) is without flavoring or sweeteners, (2) is consistent with the most recent dietary recommendations, (3) is packaged in liquid form, and (4) contains vitamins A and D at levels consistent with the Food and Drug Administration, State, and local standards for fluid milk.

Projects must be situated within city limits, and if on publicly owned property, an agreement addressing various terms, including the use of minors as volunteers and hold harmless clauses, will be required. A total of $10,000 is available for this grant cycle. Expected outcomes include a more informed community regarding water quality issues, a reduction in pollutants impacting surface waters, and a greater adoption of environmentally sound practices. The program’s theory of change is that by empowering and funding community groups to engage in direct action and education, Ellensburg can achieve measurable improvements in its surface water quality, thereby enhancing ecological health and public well-being. The United States Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), through the Public Diplomacy Section (PDS), is pleased to announce a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the BOLD (Balkanski Omladinski Lideri, Young Balkan Leaders) Network Small Grants Competition for BiH BOLD network members.
