A. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION After a successful inaugural program in 2024, U.S. Embassy Seoul is excited to launch the second Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) in Korea. The U.S. Department of State created AWE to support and empower women entrepreneurs globally. The program provides the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to build, manage, and scale successful businesses a key priority highlighted by both President Biden and President Yoon during the 2023 U.S.-ROK State Visit. Participants will gain skills to maximize their contributions to the Korean economy and facilitate entry into the U.S. market. The selected grantee will facilitate a pre-made curriculum combining online and offline components. The curriculum covers topics including entrepreneurship, business planning, marketing, financial management, and pitching. The grantee will also collaborate with U.S. Embassy Seoul to organize networking activities for participants to build relationships amongst themselves and to expand their networks of Korean and American business leaders. Prior to the program, the grantee organization will receive an AWE training session to familiarize themselves with the program's curriculum. Key Outputs: Recruitment: The grantee, in close collaboration with U.S. Embassy Seoul, will recruit 25 women entrepreneurs who have been running their businesses since inception. Detailed participant selection criteria will be designed in close collaboration with the grantee organization. Program: Training: The first phase of the program will focus on Thunderbird University's three-month-long 100 Million Learners Program, delivered online. During this phase, the grantee organization will maintain regular check-ins with participants to ensure their active engagement. Monthly in-person meetings will be held to facilitate discussion of the material and best practices for adapting these skills to their own businesses. Networking: The grantee organization will organize networking activities. U.S. Embassy Seoul will supplement these activities with invitations for participants to attend related ongoing programs or events. In particular, these networking activities should involve the inaugural 2024 AWE cohort and their mentors, when possible. Events: The program will culminate in a graduation ceremony in Fall 2025. Select, high-performing participants will be invited to attend Select USA in 2025 and/or to become mentees in the Select USA Global Women in Tech program. Monitoring and Evaluation: The grantee organization will conduct ongoing surveys to assess participants' experiences before and after attending the AWE program. These surveys will assess the relevance of the materials to their businesses and reflections on the trainings. The purpose of the NHGRI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Transition Award for a Diverse Genomics Workforce (F99/K00) is to support a defined pathway across career stages for talented graduate students from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in biomedical, clinical, behavioral and social sciences. This two-phased award will facilitate completion of a doctoral dissertation (F99) and transition to a strong postdoctoral research position (K00) focused on the scientific, medical, ethical, social and/or legal areas of genomics research. It is anticipated that successful completion of this phased award program will have provided students sufficient scientific and career development activities to set them on the path to becoming independent genomics researchers. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) does not allow applicants to propose to lead an independent clinical trial, but does allow applicants to propose research experience in a clinical trial led by a sponsor or co-sponsor.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), within the Administration for Children and Families, provides temporary shelter care and other child welfare-related services to Unaccompanied Children (UC) in ORR custody. Residential care services begin once ORR accepts a UC for placement and end when the minor is released from ORR custody, turns 18 years of age, or the minors immigration case results in a final disposition of removal from the United States. Residential care and other child welfare-related services are provided by state child placement licensed residential care programs in the least restrictive setting appropriate for the UCs age and special needs. ORR is announcing the availability of funds under this Standing Notice of Funding Opportunity (SNOFO) to seek residential care providers, including shelter, group home, and transitional foster care. The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Abidjan, Cte d'Ivoire, of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for a cooperative agreement to develop and implement a Public Diplomacy Initiative (PD) national workshop on "Unmasking Misinformation through Gaming," to be held in Abidjan, pending the availability of funding. Please carefully follow all instructions below. The proposed workshop will focus on introducing existing and aspiring young game developers to the concept of designing games to combat misinformation and equipping them with the technical and narrative skill sets to create compelling interactive experiences. The program should also provide participants with nuanced background knowledge on critical issues related to misinformation that could be highlighted through a gaming medium. Proposals should seek to convene 60-70 skilled gaming industry professionals and game design students for a four-day program comprised of a two-day workshop led by American and local experts on designing games with social messages, followed by a two-day game jam during which participants form teams and conceptualize games that could address pressing misinformation issues in Cte d'Ivoire. Program proposals should also integrate a final pitching competition and budget funding that allows selected games to be developed to completion.

This program develops and tests IPM strategies to control one of the target pests identified by CDFA in the RFP. The IPM program could be quickly implemented once the invasive pest becomes established in California. It is a priority to first utilize and adapt existing knowledge and technology that may exist outside of California. Additionally, the focus is on targets suitable for long-term IPM control. Pests that are typically successfully eradicated, such as certain fruit flies, will not be a high priority. A proposal should provide straightforward descriptions of the proposed IPM project or strategy, including a detailed scope of work, commitments from team members, and a budget justification (details provided in the Grant Proposal Requirements section). CDFA encourages but does not require matching funds from industry partners. Proposals must identify and justify a high priority target pest from the CDFA target pest list. Project proposals must include details and reasoning on what IPM techniques for that pest (biological/cultural control, monitoring, etc.) will be investigated. Projects may include any number of IPM components, including a single aspect of an IPM system. Projects with biological control components should detail a plan to collect data necessary to obtain a release permit and describe the process to obtain it. The focus of the research should be on long-term control of the invasive pest that minimizes disruption of urban communities and existing agricultural IPM systems. For example, it would be preferable to prioritize testing selective chemistries, biological chemistries, cultural control, and biological control, over broad-spectrum insecticides. Proposals should consider availability of products not registered in California and potential remedies. The proposal must focus on management strategies for pests on the target list. CDFA will use the priorities rubric in the RFP to evaluate proposals for each target pest. Applicants may only propose projects related to the pest on the target list. Note: it is not a requirement for target pests to fall into the highest priority category. This rubric is meant to serve as a guide to researchers when selecting target pests and discussing their importance to California and suitability for this program.

In 2023, FBIs Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) received a record number of complaints from the American public: 880,418 complaints were registered, with potential losses exceeding $12.5 billion. This is a nearly 10% increase in complaints received, and it represents a 22% increase in losses suffered, compared to 2022. Small businesses are attractive targets because they have information that cybercriminals want, and they typically lack the security infrastructure of larger businesses. Surveys have shown that many small business owners feel their businesses are vulnerable to a cyberattack. Yet many businesses cannot afford professional IT solutions, have limited time to devote to cybersecurity, or do not know where to begin. The Consolidated Appropriations Acts, 2022, 2023 and 2024, authorized the U.S. Small Business Administration to make grants to States, and the equivalent thereof, to carry out projects that help new small business concerns with tools to combat cybersecurity threats during their formative and most vulnerable years.
