The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program, established under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), aims to strategically deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the United States. With a total allocation of $5 billion over fiscal years 2022 through 2026, the program focuses on building a reliable, equitable, and interconnected network of EV chargers, particularly along designated Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFCs) and the Interstate Highway System. States are required to submit an annual EV Infrastructure Deployment Plan outlining their intended use of NEVI funds, which must be approved by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The program emphasizes reducing greenhouse gas emissions, supporting equitable EV adoption, and creating sustainable jobs. Plans must address technical standards, data sharing, workforce training, and public engagement, with a strong focus on benefiting disadvantaged communities.

The DoD Traumatic Brain Injury and Psychological Health, Focused Program Award is a funding opportunity aimed at accelerating the development of solutions to critical questions related to traumatic brain injury and psychological health, through multidisciplinary research programs that can significantly impact these conditions through clinical applications, with a budget of approximately $46.5M to fund around six projects.

With this solicitation, BJS seeks to maximize the utility of the Federal Justice Statistics Program (FJSP) by providing the data and tools needed to support evidence-based analyses for DOJ and other executive, legislative, and judicial branch agencies. This includes expanding the information available through the Federal Criminal Case Processing (FCCPS) query tool and demonstrating new waysespecially through record-linkage toolsthat federal data can be analyzed to develop evidence to support policymaking.

The FY 2024 Team Nutrition Training Grants for Meal Pattern Modernization and Retention and Mentorship Opportunities will help State agencies build capacity for future implementation of the Final Rule, Child Nutrition Programs: Meal Patterns Consistent with the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and address residual COVID-19 effects on staff retention in school meal programs. During school years (SY) 2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly exacerbated food insecurity, diet-related diseases, and health disparities. It also affected school meal service across the country. Schools experienced school foodservice labor shortages and staff turnover as well as supply chain disruptions. The COVID-19 public health emergency underscored the need to safeguard and continue to support healthy school environments; provide technical assistance, coaching, and mentoring to School Nutrition Professionals; and to capture and share the institutional knowledge of School Nutrition Professionals. The FY 2024 Team Nutrition Training Grant activities will allow State agencies to provide technical assistance to School Nutrition Professionals and help ensure they have the skills and knowledge to prepare and serve nutritious meals. The grant will also help School Nutrition Professionals pilot and implement coaching and mentoring programs and resources, and implement ways to capture and share the institutional, job specific knowledge of school nutrition directors, managers, and front-line staff. Ultimately, this will assist SFAs to: identify and apply ways to further improve the nutritional quality of school meals; meet meal pattern requirements and weekly dietary specifications for school meals; implement scratch cooking techniques; improve forecasting, procurement, and menu planning for school meals, and; build a knowledgeable and skilled labor force. The Food Safety Training and Education grant, offered by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD), aims to provide up to $365,000 for projects focused on food safety training and education. The fund is divided into $242,500 for consumer education and $114,100 for training food service establishment employees and agents enforcing the Michigan Food Law of 2000. Grants will be awarded from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025, with multi-year proposals considered based on future funding. Applications are solicited from May 3 to June 24, 2024.

The DOD Traumatic Brain Injury and Psychological Health, Emerging Topics Research Award aims to accelerate research in traumatic brain injury and psychological health, with the goal of developing new clinical applications, health care products, and guidelines for Service Members, their Families, Veterans, and the American public.

The purpose of the DOL Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs Grant Program is to fund public-private partnerships to develop, strengthen, and scale promising and evidence-based training models in H-1B industries and occupations critical to meeting the goals of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and to maximize the impact of these investments. The United States (U.S.) will need a proficient workforce to fill the good-paying jobs created by this historic investment, and this grant program will train job seekers in advanced manufacturing; information technology; and professional, scientific, and technical services occupations that support renewable energy, transportation, and broadband infrastructure sectors. The DOL Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs Grant Program represents a down payment for the future skilled workforce needs that are being developed through the BIL investments by investing in the development and expansion of the workforce partnerships that will be needed to build equitable pathways to good infrastructure jobs.The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Grant Program serves dual purposes by implementing and scaling worker-centered sector strategies to support the workforce necessary for successful implementation of the BIL. Applicants must choose one of the following tracks for this grant program: 1) Development Track: Developing and Implementing Local/Regional Worker-Centered Sector Strategy Programs; or 2) Scaling Track: Scaling Effective Worker-Centered Sector Strategy Programs. The goal of the Development Track is to use promising training models to invest in and establish local/regional partnerships that will implement sector-based training programs across one or multiple infrastructure-related sectors. This track will support equitable participation and growth of worker-centered sector-based training programs, particularly those serving rural and smaller communities and historically marginalized, underrepresented, and underserved populations. The goal of the Scaling Track is to scale an existing training model to the statewide or national level, that has shown demonstrated success in one infrastructure-related sector. This track will invest in statewide and national partnerships that will set the stage to enable support and growth in evidence-based worker-centered sector strategies.Both tracks require public-private partnerships to develop workforce training programs which incorporate the following core principles into their grant project design to ensure equitable access to quality jobs: 1) strategies for ensuring diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility; 2) career pathways that lead to middle- to high-skilled employment; and 3) worker-centered sector strategies. This notice details the application requirements and procedures to obtain grant funding for projects on the Northeast Corridor (NEC) under the Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Program for Fiscal Year 2024. The program aims to reduce the State of Good Repair backlog, improve performance, or expand or establish new intercity passenger rail service. Eligible applicants include states, groups of states, interstate compacts, public agencies, political subdivisions, Amtrak, federally recognized Indian tribes, and combinations of these entities. The total funding available is $2,034,420,932, and applications are due by July 15, 2024. The projects must be listed in the 2024 Northeast Corridor Project Inventory and comply with the selection and evaluation criteria outlined in the notice.

This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) invites applications from institutions/organizations that propose to establish a Research Resource Center (RRC) for the NIDDK Nutrition Obesity Research Centers (NORC) Program. The NORC Program consists of eleven Centers across the nation that support and enhance the national research effort in nutrition and obesity through cutting-edge basic, clinical, translational, and health disparities research in nutrition science and obesity. In collaboration with the existing NORC program, the RRC will (1) provide administrative support for the entire NORC Program, (2) establish and curate a NORC Program website and centralized repository of research resources , (3) implement a multipronged approach to support and grow the early-to-midcareer research workforce, including individuals from diverse backgrounds, with a goal of maximizing national outreach and impact, (4) administer and manage a NORC Opportunity Program to address gaps and promote collaboration, and (5) manage a Pilot and Feasibility Program.This NOFO requires a Plan for Enhancing Diverse Perspectives (PEDP), which will be assessed as part of the scientific and technical peer review evaluation. Applications that fail to include a PEDP will be considered incomplete and will be withdrawn.

The purpose of this program is to advance the provision of trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and evidence-based substance use-related approaches and interventions across the country and across the lifespan to reduce the impacts of opioid and stimulant misuse and use disorders on individuals, families, and communities.

The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Alaska Aquatic Resources Program protects and restores riparian and wetland areas, aquatic habitats, and water resources to provide functioning ecosystems for a combination of balanced and diverse uses including fish and wildlife, and for the long-term needs of future generations. Policy guidance for the Program ensures that public land management based on multiple use and sustained yield provides healthy and productive riparian, wetland, and aquatic habitat, achieves land health standards, and considers society’s long-term needs for healthy watersheds. The issues the Program addresses are diverse and include restoration, habitat fragmentation and degradation, drought resiliency, water availability, and aquatic invasive species. Program staff provide professional expertise and policy guidance to BLM managers, Federal, State, Tribal, and local governments, and non-governmental partners on these issues, and implement the best management practices to minimize or avoid impacts to water resources, riparian and wetland areas, and aquatic habitats on public lands. This program supports projects funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Section 40804 (b) Ecosystem Restoration. This program also supports projects funded through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Sections 50221 Resilience, 50222 Ecosystems Restoration and 50303 DOI.

The Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT) of the U.S. Department of State announces a Request for Statements of Interest and Capacity (RSOIC) from organizations interested in implementing a project to facilitate a joint exercise with West African civilian security agencies to promote cross-border coordination, information sharing, and collaboration on counterterrorism threats.

OCPE is charged with promoting instruction and training on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. USCIS recognizes that naturalization is a key milestone in the civic integration of immigrants. Naturalization requirements, such as knowledge of English, U.S. history, and government, encourage civic learning and build a strong foundation upon which immigrants can fully integrate into American society. Through preparing for naturalization, immigrants gain tools to become successful citizens and meet their responsibilities as United States citizens. The goal of the Citizenship and Integration Grant Program is to expand the availability of high-quality citizenship preparation services for lawful permanent residents (LPRs) across the nation and to provide opportunities for immigrants to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate into the fabric of American society. Since it began in 2009, the Citizenship and Integration Grant Program has awarded more than $55 million through 644 competitive grants to immigrant-serving organizations in 41 states and the District of Columbia. Now in its 16th year, the program has helped more than 300,000 LPRs prepare for citizenship.The Citizenship Integration Training Academy (CITA) funding opportunity aims to train a new cadre of citizenship instructors and oversee the development of new citizenship programs. This funding will provide support to organizations that have not previously received USCIS grant funding. In year one of the grant, the CITA will provide twelve months of rigorous, mandatory virtual training for grant recipient staff designed to impart the requisite technical skills, knowledge, and capacity to enable them to establish and implement a high-quality citizenship education program for LPRs in years two and three. During years two and three, program implementation will be closely followed and supported by USCIS staff, who will provide technical assistance to grant recipients. This grant also offers an optional component for funded organizations to pursue and establish a naturalization application services program staffed by two Department of Justice (DOJ) Accredited Representatives. Interested organizations may independently pursue status as a Department of Justice (DOJ) Recognized Organization during year one, with the cost of this training and designated staff time reimbursed through Citizenship and Integration Training Academy (CITA) grant funding. During years two and three, participating grant recipients will begin offering naturalization application services in conjunction with their citizenship education program.
