We intend for the funded project to create a National Coordinating Center to connect health and human service professionals with qualified health language interpreters and translators to improve access to language services for individuals limited English proficiency. The funded project will develop technical components needed to host the Center, connect and engage a collaborative network of community-based organizations, and promote the Center nationally to health and human service organizations and agencies. OMH also expects the project to address gaps in access to language services and improve the quality of care and health outcomes for individuals with limited English proficiency. Eligible applicants include any private nonprofit or public entity located in a State. State includes, in addition to the several States, only the District of Columbia, Guam, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, and any agency or instrumentality thereof exclusive of local governments. Be located within or immediately adjacent to waters of the state, 2. Have measurable outcomes within a pre-determined timeframe 3. Be designed to acquire, restore, or improve habitat or restore ecosystem function, or both, to benefit fish and wildlife.
