Transportation Grants

The Economic Opportunity Holiday Grant is a financial aid initiative aimed at supporting small businesses, microentrepreneurs, food industry enterprises, and nonprofits in Los Angeles County that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Grants of $3,000 or $5,000 are available for eligible entities. Applicants must sign a pledge to support local businesses on shoplocal.la before applying. Eligible applicants include businesses in good standing with local, state, and federal taxes, and nonprofits providing housing, food, transportation, or other community services. Businesses must demonstrate financial losses due to the pandemic, such as revenue declines, supply chain disruptions, or increased costs for public health compliance. Nonprofits and for-profit entities must meet specific revenue thresholds and operational requirements. Certain entities, such as publicly traded companies, lobbying firms, and businesses violating state or federal laws, are ineligible. Grant funds can be used for various purposes, including purchasing certified equipment or technology, paying employee payroll, renewing local permits, covering business debts incurred due to COVID-19, and managing outstanding expenses like rent. Funds may also address costs resulting from health and safety adaptations or interruptions caused by the pandemic. The application requires detailed information about the business, including ownership, type, revenue, location, and impact of COVID-19. Applicants must certify that their submissions are accurate and that their business was affected by the pandemic. Incomplete or falsified applications may result in disqualification. Entities meeting eligibility criteria will be contacted to submit supporting documentation for verification. The program explicitly prohibits funds from being used by businesses involved in gambling, adult entertainment, or activities contravening state or federal regulations. Frederick County’s Fiscal Year 2026 Community Partnership Grant Program invites eligible nonprofit organizations to apply for competitive funding to support programs and services for county residents. The Memory Workers Fellowship, part of the Autistic Voices Oral History Project (tAVOHP), provides a unique opportunity for professionals in archives, libraries, oral history, and related fields to enhance their skills in working with neurodiverse communities. This grant-funded program, supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), aims to expand inclusion and accessibility in memory work while preserving diverse Autistic narratives. The fellowship is open to both Autistic and non-Autistic (allistic) individuals, with a focus on promoting equity, inclusion, and neuro-affirming practices. Applications are due by January 31, 2025. Fellows will receive training through the Oral History with Autistics for Memory Workers Workshop in March 2025, which will introduce inclusive methodologies tailored to Autistic communication styles. Between March and July 2025, fellows are required to conduct two oral history interviews with members of the Autistic community using the techniques learned. Completed interviews, along with biographical and release forms, must be submitted by August 15, 2025. Fellows will also participate in group meetings, office hours, and an online wrap-up event in September 2025 to share experiences and feedback. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to archives, oral history, or memory work and an interest in improving cross-neurotype communication. Priority will be given to individuals from underrepresented communities, including people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, disabled people, and those facing financial hardship. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, U.S. citizens, or legally authorized to work in the United States. Fellows will receive $3,000 in compensation, distributed in three payments: upon signing the fellowship contract, after completing the workshop, and upon submitting the required interviews and materials. Interview participants will also receive $300 as compensation for their contributions. Fellows will have access to comprehensive support, including tools, templates, guidance, and accommodations tailored to their needs. This program is designed to foster better understanding of Autistic culture and narratives while equipping memory workers with tools to preserve and amplify these stories.
