As a center of learning, innovation, and leadership that shapes and advances effective correctional practice and public policy, NIC is a vital partner in planning, developing, delivering, and supporting training focused on gender-responsive approaches to working with justice-involved women. NIC training helps correctional staff address the significant challenges they face regarding gender-informed facility operations, policies and procedures, and the development and implementation of evidence-based programs and services that meet womens needs. The growth of knowledge about the types of women who may need to be considered in an agencys response to women and the management strategies that may be most effective for working with this population has also led to advancements in training.This solicitation is for a proposal to enter into a 12-month cooperative agreement to coordinate and deliver two trainings each of Gender-Informed Practices in the Management of Womens Prisons and Justice-Involved Women: Developing an Agencywide Approach, two training programs that address the importance of gender-responsive intervention in a correctional facility.

The Women's Fund is committed to providing a permanent endowment to support non-profit agencies serving women and girls in Rock County. By focusing on hands-on grant-making and leadership through volunteer opportunities, the Fund aims to mirror the diverse population it serves, welcoming donors of all backgrounds. Established as a component of the Community Foundation, its Advisory Board, consisting of community volunteers and foundation staff, is dedicated to raising funds and recommending grants that address the current needs of women and girls in Rock County, Wisconsin. The Study of the U.S. Branch (ECA/A/E/USS), Office of Academic Exchange Programs, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), invites proposal submissions from U.S. public and private academic and cultural institutions, exchange-of-persons, and other not-for-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3) (see section C. Eligibility Information) for the design and implementation of four (4) Institutes for the Study of the U.S., Madeleine K. Albright Young Women Leaders Program (Albright Young Women Leaders Program). Four Institutes will take place over five weeks in summer 2025. Each Institute will focus on a theme that reflects U.S. foreign policy priorities. The themes selected for these Institutes are: Civic Engagement, Economic Empowerment, Environmental Issues, and Public Policy. See details in section A.3. The Albright Young Women Leaders Program will provide multinational groups of undergraduate female students with a deeper understanding of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions while simultaneously developing their leadership skills. Each Institute will be organized for a group of 20 foreign undergraduate women for a total of 80 participants in four concurrent Institutes. Institutes will be approximately five weeks in duration and will include an approximately four-week academic residency at a U.S. academic institution and an approximately one-week integrated study tour that will expose the foreign undergraduate students to a community (or multiple communities) representing a culture and/or region distinct from that of their academic residency. The Office of Citizen Exchanges of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) announces an open competition for the FY2024 Global Media Makers (GMM) program. U.S. public and private non-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3) may submit proposals to conduct a professional development program for film and television content creators from participating countries to enhance their skills and to support local creative economies. This program, like other ECA film program models, seeks to elevate influential voices that are building resilient civil societies by using film and television content to address critical local issues including, but not limited to, the climate crisis, democratic governance, freedom of expression, pluralism, tolerance, womens and youth empowerment.The FY 2024 GMM program will connect up to 50 mid-career film and television professionals ("Fellows) with professionals (Mentors) from the U.S. entertainment industry who will facilitate behind-the-scenes access, bolster Fellows technical skills and creative content development, and build the foundations for lasting professional networks. Fellows will travel to the United States for a four-to-six-week residency, which will take place primarily in Los Angeles (L.A.), to work on projects with a team of mentors to receive state-of-the-art-training and industry access to support conceptual development of independent, authentic, and compelling content for distribution in the Fellows home countries. The strategic priorities and focuses of the project are multi-faceted, with a strong emphasis on empowering local civil society support actors. A central requirement is that proposals demonstrate how the grantee will strengthen local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) engaged in advancing women’s economic security. The project is expected to first focus on identifying problematic country-specific and/or regional systemic barriers and socio-cultural attitudes, and then partner with local CSOs to directly address these identified obstacles. The CUWEE project details two key mechanisms for implementation. First, it intends to support a competition designed to promote local CSOs to develop and implement pioneering solutions tailored to overcome specific local systemic barriers to economic security for women in their respective country or region. Second, the project mandates the provision of a training curriculum that builds the capacity of, and strengthens, the regional Caribbean network of local CSOs dedicated to women’s economic security. WHA intends to issue one award, subject to funding availability, not to exceed $1,973,359, for a project period of up to three years, with a target start date of October 2024. The expected outcomes are the provision of greater economic gender equity and equality across the Caribbean region through the development of local capacity and innovative, localized solutions.
