The purpose of this NOFO is to reduce the burden of vector-borne diseases by building public health entomology capacity within regional networks around the globe to improve surveillance and control of arthropods of public health importance. Key objectives include developing and expanding regional expertise in surveillance and control of arthropods of public health importance; formalizing and encouraging mechanisms for information exchange between public health entomologists; strengthening networks and through them improve the public health impact of vector control and emergency response preparedness; and long-term sustainability of networks. Additionally, this project will build on ongoing work with to strengthen preparedness and response capacity for arboviral outbreaks through implementation and evaluation of sterile insect technique (SIT) in the Pacific to reduce vectors and risk for arboviral diseases. The project will evaluate SIT in the field in 3 Pacific Island countries/territories at-risk for Aedes-borne diseases to build the evidence base for implementing such tools to improve public health outcomes. Additional activities include continued technical and coordination support for entomological and epidemiological aspects of the SIT evaluation, reviewing outcomes at trial mid- and end-points, assessing cost-effectiveness of SIT, exploring opportunities to support SIT projects in Paraguay and Argentina considering recent Aedes-borne disease, and working with partners to promote large-scale, robustly designed SIT trials in different eco-epidemiological settings.

The purpose of this research is to monitor characteristics of periphyton downstream of CEPP, within Northeast Shark River Slough (NESRS) to determine pre-CEPP implementation baseline conditions for periphyton. The project objectives include: Objective 1: Collect quarterly samples at 35-40 sites in the northeast Shark River Slough to provide measures of mean periphyton cover, volume, biomass, chlorophyll a (chl a), and organic, total carbon (TC), nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P). Objective 2: Establish and report the baseline condition of appropriate periphyton community metrics and parameters for future use in a Before, After, Control, Impact (BACI) assessment of CEPP project implementation. The primary objective of the project is to ensure that entities with high risks of money laundering in El Salvador are closely monitored and supervised. The project aims to facilitate the implementation of effective risk-based AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism) compliance programs that are in line with the best practices in the industry. By adopting these measures, the project seeks to prevent and detect instances of money laundering in the country.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Global Health Security (GHS) Program seeks to prevent and mitigate the increasing occurrence and severity of epidemics, pandemics and other emerging infectious disease threats. We do this by partnering with countries, as well as global, regional, and local public and private sector organizations. The purpose of the Research and Evaluation (R) Initiative is to research and evaluate approaches to combatting domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking (hereafter referred to as VAWA crimes). By generating more knowledge about strategies for serving victims and holding offenders accountable, communities that benefit from VAWA funding will be better equipped to align their work with practices that are known to be effective, and they will be more capable of generating empirical knowledge on the efficacy of new and promising ways of doing things. The initiative is designed to support researcher-practitioner partnerships and a broad range of research and evaluation methods, including qualitative, mixed-method, quasi-experimental, and experimental designs. Because OVW has very limited funds to support research and evaluation, this initiative prioritizes topics for which a stronger evidence base would help OVW grantees use federal funds most effectively.

With this non-competitive solicitation, BJA seeks to request applications from 6cooperative agreement recipients that have been previously funded to support training and technical assistance and/or projects that support law enforcement innovation and crime reduction (LEICR). This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Mozambique for conducting market research in response to the questions provided in Attachment C. USAID/Mozambique intends to design a new Activity - Ensuring Social Protection by Empowering and building Resiliency for Adolescents, Nuclear families, Children, and caregivers affected by HIV/AIDS (ESPERANA) - that will support and contribute to the Government of the Republic of Mozambique (GRM) to reach and sustain HIV epidemic control in three provinces - Sofala, Manica and Tete. This is anticipated to be a five (5) year award November - 2024 - 2029, with a total value of up to $40 million. The purpose of this communication is to obtain industry comment and input on the above-mentioned activity. The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Center for Food and Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) is announcing its intention to receive and consider a single source application for the award of a cooperative agreement in fiscal year 2024 to Cornell University to support the Center for Veterinary Medicine and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The purpose of this support is to:1. Carry out multidisciplinary applied research projects on raw milk cheese aging to examine factors that affect Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza (HPAI H5N1) virus inactivation, to include pH and water activity.2. Carry out multidisciplinary applied research projects on commonly used acidification methods for treatment of waste milk to be fed to calves, or for disposal, to understand effects on HPAI H5N1.3. Carry out multidisciplinary applied research projects to characterize the thermal inactivation kinetics of HPAI H5N1 in a wide variety of dairy products.4. Provide additional capabilities and capacity for HPAI H5N1 testing as needed to help meet the needs of FDA's research agenda. 5. Engage with academic and industry stakeholders to help ensure work is complementary of other ongoing research in these research spaces and to facilitate the use of the information produced by the research program.

The EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ) is issuing this NOFO to announce the availability of funds and solicit applications from eligible entities to conduct climate and air quality planning activities under the EPAs Clean Ports Program. The EPAs Clean Ports Program will fund climate and air quality planning activities at United States ports including emissions inventories, strategy analysis, community engagement, and resiliency measure identification that will build the capacity of port stakeholders to continue to reduce pollution and transition to zero-emissions (ZE) operations over time. The Clean Ports Program will also fund ZE port equipment and infrastructure as part of a separate NOFO to reduce mobile source emissions (criteria pollutants, air toxics, and/or greenhouse gases) at United States ports, delivering cleaner air for communities across the country. This new funding opportunity, made possible by funding from the Inflation Reduction Act, builds on the EPAs Ports Initiative, an ongoing program that helps our nations ports, a critical part of our infrastructure and supply chain, address public health and environmental impacts on surrounding communities.
