This program will help rural hospitals expand their services to meet community health needs while increasing their revenues. The program will achieve these goals by providing expert technical assistance to rural hospitals to conduct market assessments, determine ways to enhance existing service lines, and start new service lines to keep services locally. The program will also provide direct financial support to help with associate costs of service lines. This program will also have the affect of helping facilities address long-standing rural disparities.

This notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) provides funding to conduct efficacy studies in an established rare disease preclinical model to demonstrate that a proposed therapeutic agent warrants further development. In addition to preclinical efficacy, accompanying pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic studies would be supported. Therapeutic agents include small molecules, biologics or biotechnology-derived products. The goal of this NOFO is to spur therapeutic development for rare diseases by advancing projects to the point where they would attract subsequent investment supporting full Investigational New Drug (IND) application development or progression to clinical trials in the case of repurposing or repositioning.

The Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT) of the U.S. Department of State is inviting applications to support the Bangladeshi initiative aimed at rehabilitating and reintegrating terrorist offenders. This FOA is designed specifically for candidates proposing to serve as the lead investigator of an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or a separate ancillary clinical trial, as part of their research and career development. Applicants not planning an independent clinical trial, or proposing to gain research experience in a clinical trial led by another investigator, must apply to the companion FOA (see RFA-HL-22-011).

The Career Transition Award for NINDS Intramural Clinician-Scientists (K22 Clinical Trial Required) aims to support licensed neurologists and neurosurgeons in the NINDS intramural program as they transition to independent academic positions while leading clinical trials and advancing their research careers in neuroscience.

The purpose of this program is to support states and tribes with implementing youth suicide prevention and early intervention strategies in schools, institutions of higher education juvenile justice systems, substance use and mental health programs, foster care systems, and other child and youth-serving organizations. SAMHSA was given the authority to address priority substance abuse treatment, prevention and mental health needs of regional and national significance through assistance (grants and cooperative agreements) to States, political subdivisions of States, Indian tribes and tribal organizations, and other public or nonprofit private entities. Under these sections, CSAT, CMHS and CSAP seek to expand the availability of effective substance abuse treatment and recovery services available to Americans to improve the lives of those affected by alcohol and drug additions, and to reduce the impact of alcohol and drug abuse on individuals, families, communities and societies and to address priority mental health needs of regional and national significance and assist children in dealing with violence and traumatic events through by funding grant and cooperative agreement projects. Grants and cooperative agreements may be for (1) knowledge and development and application projects for treatment and rehabilitation and the conduct or support of evaluations of such projects; (2) training and technical assistance; (3) targeted capacity response programs (4) systems change grants including statewide family network grants and client-oriented and consumer run self-help activities and (5) programs to foster health and development of children; (6) coordination and integration of primary care services into publicly-funded community mental health centers and other community-based behavioral health settings.

The FY24 Transformative Breast Cancer Consortium Development Award is intended to provide successful applicants the time and resources needed to bring investigators and breast cancer advocates together to establish a consortium framework and conduct preliminary research to support application to a future, full Transformative Breast Cancer Consortium Award (pending availability of funds). This is a development award and is a separate mechanism from the full consortium award. Recipients of the FY24 Transformative Breast Cancer Consortium Development Award are expected to submit an application to compete for the full Transformative Breast Cancer Consortium Award anticipated to be offered in a future fiscal year(s). However, it is not necessary to receive a development award in order to apply for a full consortium award in the future. For FY24, investigators may be named as Consortium Director on an application submitted to either (but not both) of these mechanisms. This funding opportunity supports research projects that investigate the long-term impacts of disasters on healthcare systems serving vulnerable populations in the U.S., aiming to improve access and reduce health disparities.

The Public Affairs Section (PAS) sponsors exchanges for emerging and influential voices in politics, democracy, and governance to foster civic leadership, and cross-party cooperation to advance North Macedonias stability, security, and EU accession. The Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) solicits applications designed to increase the ability of EPA Region 3 states (Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia and the District of Columbia) to manage food scraps more sustainably through composting. In particular, the NOFO seeks to increase capacity for food scraps composting in the region through the upgrade of yard waste composting facilities. This FOA encourages applications to advance the discovery, preclinical development, and proof of concept (PoC) testing of new, rationally based candidate agents and neurostimulation approaches to treat mental disorders, substance use disorders (SUDs) or alcohol use disorder (AUD), and to develop novel ligands and circuit-engagement devices as tools to further characterize existing or to validate new drug/device targets. Partnerships between academia and industry are strongly encouraged. This FOA using the U01 mechanism supports a discrete, specified, circumscribed project to be performed by the named investigator(s) in an area representing his or her specific interest and competencies Projects seeking support for a research program of multiple projects directed toward a specific major objective, basic theme or program goal, requiring a broadly based, multidisciplinary and often long-term approach should consider the companion U19 FOA.

With this solicitation, BJA seeks a training and technical assistance (TTA) provider with expertise in working with communities to improve access to integrated treatment for justice-involved populations with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (MHSUDs). The provider will work with BJA to lead a national TTA program and administer subawards to local demonstration sites. The program will promote cross-system collaboration among justice stakeholders, behavioral health service providers, and community support organizations to improve access to integrated treatment for individuals with co-occurring MHSUDs.
