Financial Assistance Grants for Victims of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking Program (FAV Program (CFDA 16.063)) supports victim service providers, Tribal governments, and Tribal organizations to provide flexible financial assistance to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking, alongside other victim services. Flexible financial assistance is intended to support survivors in achieving safety, stability, and healing by paying for necessities that are not easily met by traditional service providers and with the flexibility to meet self-identified needs quickly.

With this solicitation, NIJ seeks to support two (2) American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science Technology Policy Fellowships (STPF) Fellows at NIJ. The AAAS STPF Fellow, as mutually agreed, will be assigned responsibilities across NIJs science offices depending on the interests of the science offices and the interests of the Fellows. Regardless of placement, the Fellows will have the opportunity to work across offices. The U.S. Embassy Djibouti is pleased to announce that funding is available for reforestation efforts in Djibouti City. This notice of funding opportunity outlines the procedures for submitting requests for funding. Please carefully follow all instructions below. Purpose of the Grant: U.S. Embassy Djibouti invites proposals from local organizations to combat climate change and urban heat in Djibouti City through reforestation and sustainable landscaping. Djibouti is one of the hottest countries on the planet and increasingly vulnerable to climate change. Djibouti has suffered from chronic drought, which has worsened over the years due to climate change. Average annual temperatures oscillate between 23C and 40C but can easily reach 50C during the months of June, July, and August. Djibouti is a highly urbanized country with more than 70 percent of the population living in the capital city, Djibouti City. In the capital, the level of sunshine and temperatures remain well above the national average. The effects of climate change coupled with rapid urbanization have contributed to the destruction of vegetation cover in Djibouti City. Reforestation has been proven to reduce the mean temperature in cities by 0.4C. Climate change, rapid urbanization, deforestation, and aging and inadequate drainage infrastructure has increased the risk of severe flooding when it does rain. The variability and intensity of rainfall, combined with urbanization, increase the risk of flooding. In April 2024, severe flooding from a few hours of rain trapped communities and destroyed roads and bridges in the city. The Mayor of Djibouti has set a Green City vision. Part of this effort is to increase reforestation, climate smart practices, and reduce urban heat. This project will support sustainable reforestation efforts in Djibouti City. Priority Program Areas: Funding will support proposals that directly respond to extreme heat and climate response efforts in Djibouti City. As the effects of climate change push rural communities to the city, the city needs to adapt and mitigate the effects of extreme heat. This project will advance broader climate change mitigation efforts being led by the Government of Djibouti. The projects key objectives are to: 1. Provide training on sustainable landscaping and tree placement to mitigate urban flooding and extreme heat. 2. Increase reforestation in Djibouti City.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to small rural hospitals and health clinics to help them improve their healthcare services and transition to a value-based care system for better patient outcomes.

The purpose of the Black Lung Data and Resource Center (BLDRC) program is to improve health care in rural areas by supporting patient-level data collection and analysis, clinic operations, and the quality and breadth of services provided by recipients of Black Lung Clinics Program (BLCP) funding. For the purposes of this Notice of Funding Opportunity, BLCP award recipients are referred to as BLCP recipients. Additional details about the program requirements and expectations for BLCP recipients can be found in HRSA-25-040. Our goal is to strengthen BLCP recipients ability to examine and treat respiratory diseases and pulmonary impairments in active and inactive U.S. coal miners. To that end, the BLDRC provides programmatic assistance and resources to help BLCP recipients use data analysis to better understand the health status and needs of U.S. coal miners. BLDRC support and data analysis contributes to advancing evidence-based models of health care for rural health care providers, including BLCP recipients and other health care providers serving rural populations. The BLDRC will work with BLCP recipients and stakeholders to address long-standing challenges and barriers to medical, outreach, educational, and benefits counseling services for U.S. coal miners. The BLDRC will also help collect and analyze information on the demographics and clinical status of coal miners with Coal Mine Dust Lung Diseases (CMDLD), or black lung diseases, especially Coal Workers Pneumoconiosis (CWP) and its most severe form, Progressive Massive Fibrosis (PMF). The BLDRC supports BLCP recipients, including rural health providers, in discerning effective methods to address challenges, analyzing best practices, and informing lessons learned that translate across rural and non-rural health care settings. These methods also expand and further enhance support for health care delivery in rural areas.

The Rural Health Network Development Planning Program supports the planning and development of rural integrated health care networks with specific focus on collaboration of entities to establish or improve local capacity and care coordination in underserved communities. The intent is that rural health networks will do the following: Expand access to care. Increase the use of health information technology. Explore alternative health care delivery models. Continue to achieve quality health care across the continuum of care.

The U.S. Embassy in Ashgabats Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce the availability of funding through the Alumni Small Grants Program. This opportunity is tailored to alumni of U.S. government-funded and U.S. government-sponsored (USG) exchanged programs and seeks projects aimed at enhancing the connections between the United States and Turkmenistan through innovative cultural and professional initiatives that emphasize shared values and promote bilateral cooperation. Projects are expected to: - Take place in Turkmenistan including in the American Corners in Dashoguz, Mary and Turkmenabat and American Center in Ashgabat. - Incorporate cultural elements or draw from the applicants U.S. exchange experience in a specific field. - Foster increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives. Project Goal: Strengthen the capacity of USG alumni, particularly youth from underserved communities in Turkmenistan to participate in economic, educational, and community service activities that emphasize shared values and bilateral cooperation by leveraging USG exchange alumni experience. Project Audience(s): Audiences may include students (at secondary and university levels), women and girls, journalists, media professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, and various underserved or vulnerable populations. Grantees are also encouraged to host programming and take advantage of existing resources at American Center in Ashgabat and American Corners in Dashoguz, Mary and Turkmenabat. Project Objectives: (Project proposals may address one or more of these objectives, or other objectives within the above policy priorities. NOTE: These are example objectives PDS will also consider projects with different objectives targets that support the above project expectations.) Objective 1: Increase alumni engagement through tailored capacity building trainings to support and strengthen the U.S.-Turkmenistan Alumni Association (USTAA). Objective 2: Equip youth from rural and underserved communities with knowledge and skills related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM). Objective 3: Increase English language proficiency skills of youth and young adults from (at secondary and university levels) from Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Mary and Lebap regions or young professionals of specific fields (for example tourism, sports, medicine, STEM) through training and interactive activities (grammar lessons, conversation practice, etc.). Sub-objective 3.1. Increase English language instruction capacity (professional development for English language teachers through teacher trainings activities. Objective 4. Build organizational capacity of civil society organizations to improve institutional accountability, transparency, and support for local communities across Turkmenistan. Objective 5: Equip young adults with media literacy skills to recognize, analyze, and counteract mis/disinformation across various digital media platforms. Objective 6: Increase awareness and willingness of participants to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives through community dialogues or workshops on climate change and environmental sustainability. Objective 7: Equip women, youth and/or residents of remote regions with business and entrepreneurship skills, such as financial literacy, risk management, marketing, and sales, through practical and hands-on training, mentorship, and internship opportunities. Objective 8: Increase the number of advocacy initiatives aimed at advancing the rights for people with disabilities by raising awareness, promoting inclusive policies, and engaging government stakeholders. Objective 9: Increase participation of women and youth from vulnerable and marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities, in economic empowerment and civic engagement activities. Applicants are encouraged to choose one or more project objectives listed above, or suggest their own project objectives, identify indicators that track success towards progress made towards objectives, and develop their own Monitoring and Evaluation (M) plans. Alumni grant proposals must support projects that address a tangible need in a community and have measurable outcomes.
