Recreational boating is a popular activity; there are approximately 11 million registered motorized recreational vessels in the United States. Of this total, an estimated 596,000 are at least 26 feet long. The Sportfishing and Boating Safety Act of 1998 (Public Law 105-178) established the Boating Infrastructure Grants (BIG) Program (16 U.S.C. 777g-1) to provide funding to the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealths of Puerto Rico and the Northern Mariana Islands, and the territories of Guam, American Samoa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands (States) for the construction, renovation and maintenance of boating infrastructure facilities for transient recreational vessels at least 26 feet long that are operated, leased, rented, or chartered primarily for pleasure. The Act amended the Dingell-Johnson Sport Fish Restoration Act (16 U.S.C. 777). Subsequent reauthorizations of the Act allow expenditures from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund and the continuation of the BIG Program. Boating infrastructure means the structures, equipment, accessories, and services that are necessary or desirable for a facility to accommodate eligible vessels. Transient vessels are those passing through or by a place, staying up to 15 days. Projects completed using BIG funds must provide public access, but may be publicly or privately owned. This package is the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 BIG Tier 2 applications.

The Eviction Protection Grant Program (EPGP) through this NOFO will fund nonprofit organizations and government entities to provide no cost legal assistance to low-income tenants at risk or subject to eviction. Additionally, projects will expand the evidence base around eviction prevention and diversion programming, by reporting information about tenants served, legal assistance services provided, outcomes achieved and milestones reached, and collaborative activities.

Donnelly Training Area, Black Rapids Training Area, and Yukon Training Area Trail and Streambank Improvements, US Army Garrison-Alaska (USAG-AK), Fort Wainwright, Alaska - The primary objectives of this requirement are to assist the USAG-AK with the optimal management of training lands, to minimize restrictions to the military mission due to natural resource related constraints, to protect and enhance ecological health on all USAG-AK lands, and to ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulations. The Appalachian Regional Energy Hub Initiative aims to strengthen regional economies by investing in energy resilience through research and planning grants, and implementation grants. The initiative focuses on establishing a regional energy hub for natural gas and natural gas liquids, including hydrogen production. Eligible applicants include local development districts, Indian Tribes, states, counties, cities, and higher education institutions, among others. The total funding available is $5 million, with a grant proposal due by July 24, 2024.

The "Research Collaboration Network in Structural Racism Measurement and Modeling" grant aims to fund interdisciplinary collaborations that develop new methods to measure and analyze the impact of structural racism on aging and Alzheimer's disease, with activities including creating a public data repository, organizing educational events, and conducting pilot research projects, with a budget of up to $1,000,000 per year for up to five years.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories to improve access to innovative gene therapies for patients with sickle cell disease through outcomes-based agreements with manufacturers.

GTOs mission is to increase geothermal energy deployment through research, development, and demonstration (RD) of innovative technologies that enhance exploration and production. Its vision is a vibrant domestic geothermal sector that contributes to a carbon-pollution free electric sector by 2035 and a net-zero emission economy by 2050 while providing economic opportunities and environmental benefits for all Americans. GTO supports geothermal energy RD activities in six research areas aimed at increased access, reduced costs and improved economics, and improved education and outreach about geothermal resources. DOEs 2023 Enhanced Geothermal ShotTM analysis concludes that with aggressive technology improvements in areas relevant to enhanced geothermal systems (EGS), geothermal electricity generation could provide 90 GWe of firm, flexible power to the U.S. electric grid by 2050. Building a clean and equitable energy economy and addressing the climate crisis is a top priority of the Biden-Harris Administration. This FOA will advance the Biden-Harris Administrations goals to achieve carbon pollution-free electricity by 2035 and to deliver an equitable, clean energy future, and put the United States on a path to achieve net-zero emissions, economy-wide, by no later than 2050 to the benefit of all Americans. DOE is committed to pushing the frontiers of science and engineering, catalyzing clean energy jobs through research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD), and ensuring environmental justice and inclusion of underserved communities. Geothermal power offers a unique value proposition to support the United States target of 100% carbon-pollution-free electricity by 2035 and a net-zero emissions economy by 2050. Traditionally, geothermal power is well understood as a clean, firm generation resource with a high capacity factor, 24/7 availability, and minimal land use footprint. Moreover, the advent of flexible geothermal operations and geothermal power coupled with storage technologies broadens the breadth of services that geothermal power could provide to a decarbonizing grid. This FOA supports the administration goals laid out above by catalyzing regional grid modeling studies that quantify the potential contribution of geothermal power in supporting an equitable4 transition to a future decarbonized grid and economy. The research and development (R) activities to be funded under this FOA will support the government-wide approach to the climate crisis by driving innovation that can lead to the deployment of clean energy technologies, which are critical for climate protection. Specifically, this FOA will quantify the value of geothermal power to a decarbonized grid.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to state governments and territories to improve access to HIV care and treatment services for low-income individuals living with HIV, addressing unmet needs and health disparities.

The Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS), through its Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, is soliciting applications for the Transforming Maternal Health (TMaH) Model. This is a voluntary, 10-year service delivery and payment model designed to improve maternal health care outcomes for people enrolled in Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The TMaH Model will test whether targeted technical (TA) assistance, coupled with payment and delivery system reforms, can drive a whole-person care-delivery approach to pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care while reducing Medicaid and CHIP program expenditures. CMS will select up to 15 state Medicaid agencies (SMAs or Recipients) to participate in the TMaH Model. Up to $17 million dollars in Cooperative Agreement funding will be available to each selected Recipient over the course of the 10-year period of performance for a total of up to $255M investment. CMS will evaluate the following: the TMaH Models impact on rates of lower c-risk cesarean section (c-section), severe maternal morbidity (SMM), incidence of low birthweight infants, changes in experience of care for pregnant and birthing people, and changes in Medicaid and CHIP program expenditures. The TMaH Model aims to improve maternal and child health outcomes while reducing Medicaid and CHIP program expenditures for maternal care through reduced spending on high-cost procedures such as c-sections for low-risk beneficiaries.

The purpose of the RRTCs, which are funded through the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program, is to achieve the goals of, and improve the effectiveness of, services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act through well-designed research, training, technical assistance, and dissemination activities in important topical areas as specified by NIDILRR. These activities are designed to benefit people with disabilities, family members, rehabilitation service providers, policymakers and other research stakeholders. The purpose of this particular RRTC is to conduct research, training, technical assistance, and related activities to contribute to improved health and function among people with physical disabilities. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.
