Federal Environment Grants

Pursuant to the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended, the United States Government, as represented by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Bureau for Development, Democracy, and Innovation (DDI) , Natural Environment Branch, Biodiversity Division, (DDI/NE/Biodiversity) and supporting Bureaus, is announcing the Biodiversity Annual Program Statement (APS), hereafter known as the Biodiversity APS. Through this APS, USAID aims to implement the vision and goals of the Biodiversity Policy (2014) to: 1. Conserve biodiversity in priority places, and 2. Integrate biodiversity as an essential component of human development. The Biodiversity APS disseminates information to prospective Applicant(s) so they may develop and submit Concept Note(s) in response to individual Addenda issued under this APS and ultimately to be considered for USAID funding. This APS describes and provides information on: the type of activities for which Concept Note(s) will be considered; available funding, process and requirements for submitting Concept Note(s) and Full Application(s); the merit review criteria for evaluating Concept Note(s); and refers prospective Applicant(s) to relevant documentation and resources. USAIDs DDIs NE/Biodiversity Division and supporting Bureaus anticipate awarding multiple assistance awards as there is no predefined minimum or maximum number of awards expected to be issued under this APS. Issuance of the Biodiversity APS does not constitute an award or commitment on the part of the U.S Government (USG) to make an award, nor does it commit the U.S. Government to pay for costs incurred in the preparation and submission of a Concept Note and/or Full Application(s). The actual number of assistance awards, if any, is subject to the availability of funds and the interests and requirements of Mission/Bureau/Independent Office (M/B/IOs), as well as the viability of eventual Full Application(s). The Biodiversity APS is not a Request for Applications (RFA). Rather, the Biodiversity APS requests Concept Notes in response to Individual Addenda published to this APS. Based on the submitted Concept Note(s) to specific Addenda opportunities, USAID will determine whether to request a Full Application from an eligible organization. To be competitive under an Addendum to this umbrella APS, Concept Notes and Full Applications must be fully responsive to all directions under this APS except when specifically noted otherwise in the Addendum.

The EPA is soliciting applications from eligible entities to provide support for training and related activities to build the capacity of agricultural partners, state, territorial and Tribal officials and nongovernmental stakeholders in activities to be carried out to support the goals of the Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 303(d) Program, the CWA 305(b) Program, the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Program, the Nonpoint Source (CWA Section 319) Program, the Fish Monitoring/Advisory Programs, the Recreational Waters/Beach Monitoring Programs, and the Water Quality Monitoring Program.

The U.S. Embassy Kingston Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Grants Program. This Annual Program Statement outlines our funding priorities, strategic themes, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding. The deadline is necessary to provide sufficient time to process and award programs in advance of the end of our fiscal year on September 30, 2024. Project proposals should aim to strengthen ties between the United States and Jamaica by highlighting shared values and promoting bilateral cooperation. Priority program areas include: • Climate, Environment, and Energy o For example, addressing the climate crisis, responding to natural disasters, conserving nature, water security, sustainable agriculture, reducing harmful pollutants, energy resilience, and renewable energy. • Combating Financial Scamming and Other Criminal Activity o For example, addressing corruption and money laundering, improving police-public relations, appreciation of the law, teaching digital literacy, detecting financial scamming, and promoting behaviors that increase community safety. • Programs for At-Risk Youth o For example, diversion programs to prevent youth violence, educational programs for critical life skills, and parent/family interventions. • Economic Prosperity o For example, business development, closing skills gaps in local communities, human resources, infrastructure, cybersecurity, resource development, and trade. • Global Health o For example, managing contagious and infectious diseases, public health workforce development, and public health policy and management. • Gender Issues o For example, women’s empowerment, improving outcomes for marginalized male youth, addressing gender-based violence, and LGBTQIA+ issues. • Human Rights and Democracy o For example, addressing fundamental human rights, human trafficking, immigration, refugees, governance, the role of civil society, and freedom of the press/media. U.S. Mission China announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a Cleantech Business Case Competition to be held in East China (Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang or Anhui provinces). This program will seek and identify concrete ways to promote the business case for clean technology by holding a business plan competition for students to share innovative clean technology ideas. Federal Funding Floor and Ceiling Amounts The estimated funding floor for this opportunity is $25,000, and the estimated funding ceiling is $300,000. The funding floor means the minimum agreement funding amount for the Federal share per agreement awarded. The ceiling is the maximum agreement funding amount for the Federal share per agreement awarded. These numbers refer to the total agreement amount, not any specific budget period.

Notice of Funding Opportunity Summary The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is announcing the potential availability of funding for the development of small-scale and urban-focused agriculture production activities. The Tennessee NRCS Small-Scale Urban-Focused Agriculture Project is an effort to challenge local Conservation Districts, non-profit organizations, non-government organizations, institutions of higher learning and other community partners to work toward the development of demonstration urban, community, and pollinator gardens across Tennessee. Awarded projects will demonstrate the process of planning and applying natural resource conservation practices, systems, and treatment in urban agricultural environments. Awarded structural practices will promote agricultural production and optimize environmental benefits in urban agricultural environments.
